    It can also show what site you came frome but in fourm terms its who invited you or told you about the website.

    That is correct. When someone registers, one of the question is if someone recommended the site what their username is. It them shows as a referrer on their account.

    No, you can only enter it when you register.

    There are no benefits to having referrals, so it's not a big deal.
