Yes, it will be interesting to see the results, unscientific though this poll is.

I'm a Roman Catholic at the moment. I was raised Anglican, and attracted to the Anglo-Catholic side of it. I liked the dressing up and ritual, to be frank, and also a lot of Anglo-Catholics were (are) gay men. It was a bit of a gay secret society, actually. But I became RC 20 years ago. Not so sure I want to stay RC though. Eastern Orthodoxy appeals, at least from an aesthetic point of view. Religion should be about beauty.

I'm not theistic. Religion (or really, any organised belief system) has never much appealed to me, and although I was baptised Christian, I stopped attending church at a pretty young age. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

However, I absolutely love talking about metaphysics and ethics.

I am Christian, but I go to a non-denominational church. I was raised Southern Baptist.

    I'm Muslim,
Cos to me it makes sense,
But I don't follow the rules of the Imams (priests) who make their own fatwa (laws and explanations)

My religion is between my god and myself and no one has the right to tell me how to follow it or understand it.
In fact , that's how most religions are right? a private thing , that agrees with your own understanding and concept of life?

It differs a lot between different religions. And different areas where the religions are practised.
For example, Buddhism and Taoism often very much encourage individual self-reflection; mostly giving some tips. Abramahic religions more often encourage certain rules, and gives more answers, in a way; it has taken on a more literalist interpretation after the Scientific Revolution.

But in essence, religions are ways of thinking, symbols and metaphors, used to try to explain the unexplicable, so to say, and help guide the individual toward enlightenment and harmony within the self, which leads to harmony with the community. At least that's how I see and understand it.
I can recommend an excellent scholar on the subject who has also had recognition as a public spokesperson: Reza Aslan. He's on YouTube.

I don't have any religious beliefs. I have simply my own ideas on what kind of person I want to be and how to just try and be moral and ethical. My ex is convinced I'm raising our girls to be godless heathens.

Other. I'm not quite sure. For a while, I called myself a LaVeyan Satanist, but now I'm exploring other spiritual and religious beliefs/pathways. Buddhism seems interesting, and I plan to learn about it more in the next year or so.

I'm a Christian, but don't claim a particular denomination. I also incorporate Buddhism, but I treat that more as a philosophy than a religion (closely aligned with the Theravada beliefs), as I don't acknowledge its spiritual aspects.

I'm an anti-religious atheist and have no respect for it what so ever. It's the Bain of humanity that values gullibility and ignorance as virtues and is devisive and evil to its very core causing countless suffering and death to our race.

Fortunately most religious people in the civilised world are vastly better that their religions and don't follow them even close to what their scriptures say.

I personally consider religion to be like a mental disorder and as it stunts ones critical faculties, I'd go even further as to class it as a form of mental retardation. That's part of the reason I care for the religious though. It's the same with anyone with mental issues. I hate the issue but I care for the person and try and help them where I can.

I know my answer seems controversial and some here may choose to be offended but that's just how I see it. I would never be prejudice to anyone because of their religion and I care and get on well with most people, but that doesn't mean I'm going to respect their beliefs. And if they don't respect mine either, I'm totally cool with that. We can still get on and be friends.

    Happy days

Uhh...... I'd rather not be called mentally sick because I believe in a god and religion; that's very offensive and uncalled for.

Baptized Eastern-Orthodox Christian, agnostic though, but my "baptized" religion says that I'm going to heaven just for being christdomed and baptized.

    Also can't argue with Christmas

Correction: It *would* be interesting to see the results. But the OP has hidden them from you. So it is much less than interesting.

Raised as a Christian. Later became an athiest but that didn't sit quite right. Nowadays I tell people I'm a luke-warm athiest. This is a bit of a parody of the bible verse that says something like God will spew out the luke-warm believer.
