What does your signature mean

A poem by Tomaz Salamun; 'An Old Song'. It's a kind of motto for my friendship with my best friend. We're going through a rocky period right now, but I still care for him more than anything, and I want to be friends with him until I die. He's not just my best friend, but a brother to me, just not by blood.

 

I figured since I'm going to have to look at something every time I post, it might as well be a poem I enjoy.

 

I could write an essay about why i don't have a signature.But since no one would be interested anyway i 'll let it be.

 

The picture is one I found I think on tumblr and I just loved the lighting and setting with the flowers and such, so I cropped it and added it on here. I think the picture is of Lana Del Rey though I'm not entirely sure, it does look like her.

The text is from Siberian Breaks by MGMT. It means that if you've ever lost the sense of creativity and again find a way to express that creativity you should take advantage of that moment or that way of expressing, and always remember to feed it with new impressions to keep it alive. It's a motivator for me to stay creative, and the song is one of my favourite by the band so it helps to listen to it when I'm feeling uninspired.

 

I think it's pretty self-explanatory.

 

It's a few lines of one of my favourite poems, by T.E. Lawerence.

 

Mine just basically means that problems make a person stronger. Cliché, but this is my mantra for the past few weeks where I am really depressed and I must say that it did helped me.

To put it as simple as possible:

Other than that, I tend to change my signature image a few times, here and there. At the moment of typing this:

It's a bit of a challenge finding an image that can fit, within the signature limits. So, it isn't my first choice. But I do like it, for the particular shade of blue, and the gesture of Azula. It's very, "Whatever, bitch!" in demeanor, which is fitting, because I don't like to deal with pettiness, assholes, or any similar traits, as I have enough going on.

 

My favorite siggy image you had was of Ty Lee that said "Bitch I'm flawless!" xD Always gave me the giggles~

 

It's from a song. Pretty sure it's about drugs. Drugs are "timeless" and have been around for a long time... but you pay a high price when you're addicted to their (initially) pleasurable effects.

However, I interpret it to mean there's a price to pay for everything good. For example, you have to work hard to get where you want in life. You always have to sacrifice something to get something....

I can also relate to the drug reference though. I have anxiety medicine that is pretty much the only thing I've found so far that helps with my anxiety/depression SOMEWHAT but it's side effects are not that nice.

 

I suppose it kind of describes me a bit..

When I thought of it, I was thinking of old-style/kote visual kei (goth-punk-glam rock from Japan). Rebelling with beauty, a beautiful revolution. That is, referring to visual kei's aesthetic of elegant gothic beauty, as well as the shocking/taboo subjects in their songs and sometimes imagery. The whole movement also was a rebellion against the gender roles that were prevalent in 80's-90's Japan.

Of course now it's nothing like that, and seems to have changed into host boys who sing shitty pop rock. But yeah.

 

I love this reasoning! I've contemplated on it a few times, and it makes perfect sense.

As for my signature. It did not stem from any source of media in particular, I'm weird like that.

 

Mine just shows that I am done with people trying to tell me how to live and that I have my own mind and decisions I can make myself. It is a quote from an anime character which I thought I related well with. ^.^
