What was something you picked up in your last relationship that you keep in mind for your next relationship?

Don't wait too late to think to ask because then she'll go away and you won't be able to [because the relationship never happened].

I learned that I shouldn't try to make a relationship work if the other person isn't trying. I also learned to not settle for a relationship if that person wants too much space. I know my worth. *swerve* :eusa_naug

Make sure they aren't male

    Joking aside.
To go with my gut instinct about things. I'm normally right.

That it was okay to be a trans woman and it was okay to love being a woman.

That was very funny! Nice one! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

My current relationship teaches me that I need patience and dedication. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Dedication is no problem, but patience.. Ugh I want to see him.

    Long-distance relationship so yeah

If it didn't work out the first time, it won't work the second time either.

No more long distance relationships. Or online dating, meet the worst people there.

Don't date someone if you're still questioning your gender...

I need to recognise my dignity and value it. I can't afford to allow people to misuse me as though I'm an addictive form of drug which encourages them to come back for more.

Don't try and make the impossible work, it will only hurt both of you.

I really like the idea of this thread.

Its kind of hard to pinpoint a lesson learned from my last relationship, as it went perfwctly swimmingly, and ended due to living circumstances and not much else. Maybe just that it's okay to be completely honest about what you're feeling. It might offend someone in the short-term, but its better for all parties involved to know exactly where you stand.

    A few things.

-Even if he's good to me, his friends, and his family, doesn't mean he's a good person. (He was absolutely horrible to service industry workers and let/encouraged his uncle saying the most racist crap about HIM[aka Middle-Eastern/Indian/brown people]!)

-Not compromising on something truly important is not selfish, it's self-preservation.

-I'm a top. (Also, should really not date straight guys.)

-I'm really just not that into the whole romance and sex thing (but I can actually enjoy it). [Thought my first relationship was just awful, it was, but that's not why I didn't engage much in the rom/sex stuff.]
