What are your political views?

Discussion in 'Chit Chat' started by Random Ross 1, May 28, 2017.

  1. Hey guys. I'm curious to know what you guys's political ideologies/parties are. Put them down in the thread. For me, I have my political opinions, but I don't like being a part of an ideology because everyone gets divided. Anyway, comment below.

I wouldn't align myself with any political party, but I know where I stand on most issues. I want a hard Brexit, Australian points immigration system, grammar schools, more money for the NHS, scrap Trident, bring back capital punishment, flat rate of tax for everyone, more lax rules on euthanasia, legalise cannabis, legalise pretty much all drugs, stop killing people in Middle East, persecute Tony Blair for war crimes, more cycle paths.

    Very liberal

    I'm for:

    Gay rights (obviously)
    Women's choice
    Separation of church and state
    Stricter gun laws
    Healthcare for everyone
    Protecting our environment
Spending less on wars/military waste (spending billions on planes etc)
Ending the death penalty nation wide

I couldn't care less. Of course, I have my own opinions. They tend to be on the liberal side as well. But I do not go out of my way to familiarize myself with things that don't concern me. After all, am I going into a political career? No. Am I loud enough to make a difference? No. Leave politics to people who actually know what they're saying, is my motto.

I'm a member of the Dutch Socialist Party and planning to run for city council in March next year.

    I'm for:

    - explicit inclusion of LGBTQ+ people in the first article of the Dutch constitution
    - Separation of religion and public education (and state obviously)
    - Inclusionary zoning to significantly reduce waiting time for social housing
    - Affordable and quality healthcare without premiums through nationalisation of health insurance
    - Inclusion of contraception in basic health insurance
    - Less spending on military, we're a tiny country with absolutely no chance of fending off an invasion
    - Millionaire tax
    - Tougher enforcement of anti discrimination laws
    - Guaranteed access to language courses in refugee centres
    - Full legalisation of marijuana and other mild narcotics. Invest the tax income in prevention programs and addiction treatment
    - If possible free college and university education. If too expensive, a government grant for every student.
    - Free public transportation. Increasing municipal tax by only 15 euro a year can accommodate that.

That's just to name a few.

I wouldn't define myself as any group really, I weigh the options and go for whatever is the most reasonable.

However, in the modern-day US I suppose I'd be considered rather liberal because that's where the reality has it's bias. I want equal rights, and I want to be free from theocracy.

In my opinion, anyone who will push themselves up while senselessly restricting or taking rights away from others does not deserve a government seat. You aren't putting the people above yourself, you're building a throne.

I'm best described as a Social Democrat. I support progressive, centre left policies that deliver social justice through economic growth, fiscal discipline and national and international cooperation. My heart might lead me in a more leftward direction, but I know how costly that would be.

    I'm Conservative.

I do like certain political ideas of other parties though.

Social democrat, progressive, socialist, etc. :0

I don't really know if I hold very many conservative beliefs. Some aspects of libertarianism mixed with socialism kind of sound good with me, but for the main part I'm just your typical garden variety queer leftist :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I don't label myself, So it depends on the issue. People are so quick to blindly follow whatever their ideology tells them to.

My views range from democratic socialism to anarcho-syndicalism, for the most part.

more or less liberal, particularly about social issues. But with issues such as economics, I don't have much of an opinion, because I don't know too much about it.

I identify as right-wing/conservative, although I do support freedom of choice on abortion issues and drug liberalization.

Social Democrat. I agree with almost all of their views.
