HOW to start a conversation??? It's with someone I don't really know and I'm just really nervous to say anything.... How to speak?? What to say???

...said every Finnish person ever. This post reminds me of my Finnish colleagues so much

Ask/say something about school if yr in the same classes. Or just a simple "Hi how are you?" and continue from there.

Could it be that Oregon and the Pacific Northwest has tried to package and sell the image of being manly yet hipster-ish and liberal (e.g. flannel everything, mountain man look, beard). And perhaps for many transguys who seek an identity they like Oregon because 1) acceptance (and the access to the hormones, which I'm sure is harder in more conservative states); 2) chasing the watered down version of the mythology of masculinity that Oregon seems to be selling (akin to Texas selling its cowboy culture to the world).

I really wish I would find my writing voice again and stop feeling so disconnected. My writing feels so unbelievably disconnected and empty to me. :frowning2:

Even empty writing can be interesting. (*hug*) Perhaps writing about emptiness would be a good thing to do (I don't know what things you usually write about or what you write (stories, poems, etc)). Anyway, take care, it'll be better sometime. =]

Me moving to Oregon mostly has to do with hormone access and trans acceptance.
The masculinity think I feel has little to do with it as I assume everyone is the same there as here minus the rampaging religion

Anyone else feel a slight tinge of feeling unsettled/discomfort when they see the "What is your sexual orientation?" question on surveys they have to fill out even though you know that they're only doing so for demographic purposes and your response to that section is usually either anonymous or very rarely checked?

I do. Usually I just put "prefer not to say" on those things, trouble with that is you've basically just admitted you're something other than straight since what straight person would put that down? Very few, if any I'm guessing. Still, at least these things are confidential but ...yeah.

Funny enough, the kid whose locker as next to mine in high school is trying to pursue a rapping career in Philadelphia. Irony.
