<_< me and my bro do not like being the center of attention. And in a small town, if you make the local news you won't hear the end of it for two or three months

I'm getting nervous about calling my insurance provider to see if trans stuff is going to be covered or not, and if so, then what specifically. I'm twiddling my thumbs again, trying to think about things to do--since I have little hope in myself that I'm going to be able to function in a workplace environment.

I ran into more people elsewhere using the whole "I pulled myself up by my bootstraps to get what I needed, so do that instead of asking for hand outs" bullshit, and it discourages me more with even wanting to do a gofundme--especially with how a facebook friend of money didn't reach his goal until six or seven years after he made his crowdfunding page. And knowing me, I wouldn't even see half of that for just as long, if not longer.

Ugh, I think I might reach out to my clinic and see if they can help or even chip away at my load by asking if it's possible to grant me a letter for top surgery. If I can have this out of the way before I'm 25, I'll be a happy camper.

Ah ok, gotcha. I can understand how that would be more unpleasant, especially in a small town.

I'll be in a new city in two days.

I can't wait because this summer is as boring as every other summer. At least, I should have some stuff to do when I get there. Plus, I only have one month left until school, yay!

I hate that this is the last night of the DNC. But today was a success. It was so good being back in my adopted city today, such a nostalgia trip. Things are finally coming together.

Just as the optimism of the DNC convention was getting to me, a political shitstorm here at home sparked by Turnbull refusing to nominate Rudd to be UN Secretary General blew up.

An indecisive cabinet and a PM who has to deal with a public either supremely satisfied or in uproar at his rather polarising decision and a newly very grumpy Foreign Minister (who happens to be the PM's most important ally in an already divided government) is not the greatest look for a country known for being unable to keep its governments together.

    --

At least I avoided appearing hungover at a meeting for a charity group with a lot of older professionals - that could've resulted in a terrible first impression.
