I wish my stomach didn't get irritated so easily, but it always seems to. -_- Not fun to wake up with cramps and discomfort. :frowning2:

Everyone's sitting here talking about Pokemon and here I am, having not played any of the games since the original 151.

(I do still have a deck of cards around here, though, that were a gift. I haven't actually played since I was 10 years old.)

I know that feel. The newest Pokemon game I've played was Emerald. And I'm much more familiar with Red/Blue/Yellow and Gold/Silver/Crystal.

I literally have not played a single Pokemon game since Red and Blue. I was big on Pokemon when I was a kid.

Them my mother decided we were going to join the Jehovah's Witness cult when I was almost 11. And that was the end of that. I'm out of the religion now, of course, but my interest in getting back into Pokemon kind of died a long time ago.

Well, I prefer old games anyway.

Generally, if a game came out after 2002, there's a very high chance I've never played.

I'm not really interested in any of the post-Johto Pokémon, to be perfectly honest. Some people are restricted to the first 151; I'll restrict myself to the first 251. That's still a lot and a number of different games to choose from. But I've tried some of the newer games with the newer Pokémon, and I can't seem to get into them as much -_-

Well, and of course, the peak of the Pokemon franchise's popularity was in the 1999-2000 timeframe.

That's about the time I started getting into it. I remember in 3rd grade we had a "bring your Pokémon cards to school" day. Man does that date me...

That's the opposite of what happened here; they actually ended up banning Pokémon in my elementary school. People were playing and trading in class and a couple of kids got in a fight over it. They caught you with those cards, they'd take them away from you.

I got one of my decks taken away because of it, too. I didn't even have them out. I wasn't doing anything with them. A little prick I didn't get along with knew I simply had them on me and snitched to the teacher.

They had a similar ban at my grade school in the early-to-mid 2000s.

I played the new games thinking they would be totally different being in 3d n all.
They where the same boring tedious grind, luckily I met a Korean that made everything worth it. Beat my lvl 100 with a lvl 1 pokemon using a superior strategy, soak my dmg then dbl it back using the passive, stopped playing after that as It was just too boring for me.

What wasn't fair was that I wasn't doing anything with them. We were in the middle of class. I wasn't messing around with them; I was actually paying attention in class. Little bastard ratted me out when I was just minding my own business. I don't even know how he knew I had them. I didn't dare take them out precisely because I didn't want them taken away. But apparently just having them on me was enough to get them taken away.

It was only the cards and games they banned, though. You could have other Pokémon stuff but it couldn't be the cards or the Game Boy games.

At my school, they tried to completely ban all Pokemon stuff from about 2001 to 2005 or so. Then they realized how pointless that was.

Speaking of bans, at my school they banned the use of public bathrooms xD
Reason: The kids would organize payed fighting rings in the bathrooms with a pool prize based on who the judges scored highest. The fighters would be compensated like 10% of the total pool, and get to fight someone for street creed etc.

They even removed the handles and bolted all the bathrooms down..

Technically it was only temporary, considering it lasted for the last 6 months of school; they got away with it. If I remember you could go to a staff monitored bathroom it cases of emergency; or just leave to go across the street to the bathrooms at mcdonalds etc. Then again they would smash the sinks, smash the toilets, etc; so considering that they might write it off as a simple maintenance. Either way we are truly the fighting Irish >:3

    To quote JonTron,
