Thought i got accepted into a job, then i mentioned i got Vehophobia to the woman in the phone. she laughed, asked if it was a prank and asked what my age was. then she said it wasn't a job for me and that what i had isn't real before hanging up.

I'm also a bit afraid of driving, but mainly, it's just way too expensive for me to afford a car, and pay the insurance(rates are sky high here), for what jobs pay...I feel your pain; this whole country seems so centered around having to drive, and I really hate that.

I wish we had better mass transit, and different options...

I don't drive. I don't even have a license. It's just never appealed to me, and seems like a huge waste of money.

It is a huge waste of money...sadly, in the US, very few cities have decent mass transit, or else, are so expensive to live in, that you almost have to be rich to afford to (NYC, San Francisco, Seattle, DC). Most of our cities are this ugly, hopeless sprawl of parking lots and traffic, and a lot of areas, (the more suburban the more common) don't even have sidewalks.

In essence, the big car companies and the big oil companies have this country by the balls, so to speak, or by whichever part of a human body you don't wanna be had by!

It can be almost impossible to have a 'career' here, with no car; you immediately eliminate about 90% of your options...

unfortunately, that goes for a lot of places out of the US as well. and yeah with jobs basically demanding you being able to drive most of the time, it limits job options or opportunities.

i as well always wished for an affordable and reliable way of transportation, that doesn't result in either me driving, or spending all or half my salary just trying to actually get to the work place. I'm already going overboard with taxi costs to get to the job interviews.

When I'm again medically able to drink (no longer taking certain medicines) I think I'm gonna buy a bottle of Veuve Clicquot to celebrate. I had that once on New Years and it was pretty good.

Very tasty! Perhaps the first major Champagne producer (or major Chateau, period) to be run by a female, near the turn of the century (1900), who did much to propel it to its current fame. Has a curious story behind it.

Eww, that really sucks. Sadly, there is not much that can be done about the flu.

Tamiflu within 48 hours? But, still have to go see a doctor and get a prescription for something that may or may not help much.

    Dear Psychiatrist,
I'm not sure these meds are the best idea.
