Want to get today over with. Not so much that it's going to be crap but I'm not getting out of the house.

Counseling tomorrow for the first time in weeks. I can't say it's made a huge difference in my life but I'm holding out.

Had my University interviews yesterday. Mom kept going on about how proud she is of me, which I can see. Started explaining to her today about what I did. Hit one point where I told her that in one of the answers I chose to mention I'd donate to transgender help groups. Of course mom went off on her usual spiel and trying to claim that the whole issue is because society is trying to make men into wimps. Then, brought up the law in california, claiming people are going to get raped. I pointed out that it would happen regardless of the law. She then tried to say that kids would bully each other, pointed out it happens regardless.

She tried to continue on and I flat rolled my eyes and told her that I was trying to tell her about my interviews and I'd appreciate it if she'd put aside her personal bias for once. She stopped, briefly and I continued one, bringing up how on another question I mentioned HR, prompting her to butt in about how she hates HR and had she listened to HR she would have aborted me because of her gay boss.

At that point, I got up, saying something along the lines, "Alright then" and left. Ah, such is homelife.

"Society is trying to make men into wimps" <--- Sounds like something one of those MRA theorists would say.

She's...Twisted. She's scared of men and doesn't like them, so in theory, wouldn't "wimpy men" be less threatening? I don't know. She falls very heavily into stereotypes.

Work was extremely rough today. I'm irritable, depressed, lonely, hurt. I just can't catch a break.

Yeah, I don't get it. See, that's like saying "Well, I hate how grizzly bears are wimping out, because if I'm worried they'll attack me, I better have a big, manly grizzly bear to tear out my throat. Not those boring, wimpy grizzlies- all they'll do is knock me against a tree and sit on me until I stop breathing."

Sarcastic_Luck, I've been reading some of your posts and I really feel for you. I know it's hard, but persevere, rise above it. You're obviously a lot more broad-minded and will gain richer experiences for it.

There really isn't much I can do with her. I try to keep the line of communication open, but she's the one that keeps shutting me down. It's honestly a shame, but I can't do much about it.
