I fully understand Rippon's point. In a competition, particularly an important one, all that matters is the event. At a high level an athlete has spent nearly a lifetime just for this event. I once competed at international level and at that time all that mattered was the race in question (by the way I came last in the race, but I was proud to compete ).
Rippon's focus is on the Olympics and his team, and so it should be.
As regards Pence, deal with him after the events. The Olympics and, more importantly life in general, are far more important than his bigoted attitude.
People like Pence and their fake science should be derided and summarily dismissed with the contempt they deserve.

Agree 100% and thats my take on what Rippon is communicating. In subsequent follow up articles / information Rippon sounds like he's getting "displeased" (even used the word fuck) with the press's obsession with his sexuality.

One of many ways the press operates is so sell controversy. It's how the press gets eye balls. There definitely getting eye balls.

Watched Adam Rippon skate yesterday. He wasn't the best, but he did well. When he'd finished his routine I said to my husband, "F*** you, Mike Pence".
