I am a young teen, and until recently thought I was straight. However, I have had fantasies about guys and only have strong crushes on guys. This made me think I am gay, but saying it to myself just feels wrong and weird... I feel very unsure and weird... Any help would be appreciated.
Hey iWolf, Growing up in a heteronormative society, we pretty much automatically assume that we are straight until (at least for LGBTQ people), we start to realize that we are not straight. It can be hard to accept that we are not straight simply because society and the people around us tell us that it isn't 'normal' or, perhaps, if you grew up in a religious environment, you may have even been told that it's wrong or a sin. There are all sorts of influences like these that can create mental barriers which make it harder for us to accept our sexuality if we are not straight. Only you can really understand and accept your own sexuality, but there are some ways to help you clarify in your mind what your body is telling you in terms of your sexual attractions. You said that you only have strong crushes on guys and you have fantasies about guys. Can you imagine yourself being in a romantic relationship with a guy? What about with a woman? When you masturbate without porn (since porn is a poor indicator of sexual preference), do you fantasize only about guys? Do you ever fantasize about women? Or both? Does some of that help?
I can imagine being in a romantic relationship with either, but I only have ever fantasized about a guy. However, Gay porn is weird to me. The last part is what really throws me off... that and the fact hat I have had not forced crushes on both genders(though stronger on guys.)
