So my job requires me to go to some pretty extreme places and do some crazy stuff... it's an industry that I've never really fit into, honestly I have no clue how I ended up doing what I do for a living...I work with the most "old school" homophobic, racist, sexist, assbackwards thinking people... and it's even more F'd up now that I'm out!!! Anyway, horrible few days in the snow and ice, terrible driving conditions just one of those "everything goes wrong trips"... it was basically a blizzard when I started up the bush road snowing so hard I could barely see, I had to go drop this machine and then move another even further up the mountain, road had 6 inches of fresh snow, hadn't been plowed, Friday night so I was the only one in the bush...it was getting dark... just a worst case scenario... As I'm climbing and chewing my way up the mountain the snow started to slow down and the sky opened up, I had driven up the mountain above the storm... and this is the sunset I was privileged enough to view.
That's gorgeous! I guess this is a prime example of looking outwards rather than inwards being good for mental health. I'm sorry your job situation is as it is, but it's really great you could still appreciate the beauty of nature and feel privileged rather than completely missing it in your inward-looking thought-spiral. That must have been quite a moment, good as well on mornings like that when you feel like your the only person in the world it's so quiet. Just birdsong and your feet crunching in snow.
