LGBT News Trump rolls back trans rights

LGBT people who voted for him undoubtedly knew this before they cast their votes. That's called denial.

 

So what does this mean for LGBT ?

 

It at the very least means nonbinary people can't get their documents changed. I almost couldn't believe this was actually happening when I saw it.

 

It means that trans people not just in the US but all over the world (for Trump's actions will have consequences worldwide) REALLY REALLY REALLY need our gay, lesbian and bi - and straight - allies to stand up and defend us in our time of need.

This ain't no joke. We have to stand together brothers, sisters and non binary people. Us trans women (and migrants) are first, but mark my words it'll the rest of the LGTBQ community next.

You could all start by deleting Facebook, Instagram (owned by Meta) Twitter/ X and boycotting Amazon. They have made it abundantly clear that they are not our friends.

There will probably be fights and lawsuits from the states and special interest groups that could stall this.

The other part is an ugly truth. Each piece of L, G, B, and T is a little bit insular regarding the other. Vance talked about the "normal gay guy" vote. There are these types and they may have voted for Trump. They look at their needs, since they're cis, and are not attuned to what others are going through. There are a lot of selfish people in all slices of society. This is starting to look like an ugly chapter from a long, long time ago - dictatorial and oligarchic - and it's too bad that some folks glossed over this.

 

Hope they don't go after same sex marriage next !

 

He's very good at barking and making threats. Let's hope that's only what they are, everything stays kind of status quo, the 4 years fly by, and more normal people return to the White House and Capitol Hill. I'm still trying to process people like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz, for example. Many of us are not used to seeing such deranged people in positions like that.

 

Oh my lord, don't get me started on those two- they're like antagonist characters from a children's book.

 

He also ignored the law about firing Inspector Generals from agencies w/o 30 day notice and good cause, and will freeze funding they don't like, even though it's law, they will proceed as if the law already changed. The OBM guy said he will do that at his confirmation hearing, flat out this is how he sees it and will proceed. Dems can try to stop things in court but they have many judges around the country to do their bidding, and will select hundreds more, plus the supreme court is theirs. Whatever he does is an official act now and immune. It's disgusting.

 

It was all orchestrated by a consortium of power brokers above his head. They use him as a spokesman as if puppeteers.

It's also interesting that Caitlyn Jenner is a Republican.

 

I hope everyone's safe while Trump is running this country. I can't imagine the tremendous amount of emotional suffering you guys have to go through.

 

Watching these developments from the UK with concerns. Here some anti-trans voices have also been becoming louder, especially in England.
Now you can clearly see how some Central and Eastern European far right countries were 'inspiring' Trump's agenda. So sad
