At what point do you eventually start to give up?

My intrusive thoughts aren't anything illegal or gruesome, they really just exist to make me question every little thing and don't ever let me live easy.

    Ever.

Although my intrusive thoughts haven't stopped, I try to battle it by creating my own world where I'm the creator and I can stop all the things that are happening in the intrusive one. I don't think it can be ''given up'' - I've tried before but things keep getting in, so having my own world tries to stop it slowly overtime.

I might suggest writing the thoughts out, on paper. You don't need to show anyone if you don't have/want to. But if they are written down and no longer in the head then they are out and not trapped anymore.

    Hope this helps.

Everyone has intrusive thoughts, but they don't cause most people distress. I'm sorry they do cause you distress, but I have no idea what can be done.

I had them to the level where I couldn't really function until I got medicated. They still itch if I miss a dose.
