So you can like posts now. Cool! I just can't figure out why I can like everything on some posts, but nothing on others? Even though other people can like posts on those threads? Is there some logic to it I'm not seeing or is this an error?
Hi, The ability to like posts is currently only enabled in the Support Area at this time, which is why you won't see the option outside of that section of the site, such as in this thread. It has currently been enabled on a trial-basis, and we'll be reviewing in future whether to keep it and, if so, whether to leave it as is or expand it to other forums outside of the Support Area forums. I see, but like I said, a thread I posted in in 'chit chat' got a like, but I couldn't like anything there. Is it that full members or a selected amount of members can like whatever they want, but the rest can't (yet)? It's not really that important I guess, but I'm just curious.
Can you link me to that thread which got the like, please? It shouldn't be possible for any individual, regardless of their usergroup, to have been able to like a post inside Chit Chat, so there may be a misconfigured setting somewhere that I need to check.
Aha, I figured it out. There was a permissions error for former staff members which allowed them to like posts across the site. It has now been changed so that it aligns with the rest of us, so that shouldn't happen again. Thanks for pointing it out - I never would have spotted it otherwise!
