I'm totally supportive of the LGBT community, I even have a gay friend. However I think that... [insert homophobic/transphobic comment]

Lol this is something that I myself said before I realized my own sexuality.

    Friend: I'm Bi.
    Me: You're kidding.

Like, I honestly sort of thought they were kidding (even though I don't know why someone would kid about something like that.) I was in eighth grade at the time and very sheltered. Sexuality was a very foreign topic for me then. So somebody saying to me "I'm gay/bi/etc" was essentially like saying to me "I'm a Christmas elf." I'd just never really... Encountered it. Or noticed it, I guess. It never crossed my mind. I didn't really even know that it was possible. (Because I'd never had any sort of ...sexual attraction to people myself at the time; puberty hit late) Anyways I didn't even know how to react. Still makes me laugh.

So does that count? Even though I'm not exactly straight? Lol.

    "It's okay: I won't judge you. It's the 21st century!"

I know their intentions are well, but this just pisses me off. By saying that I feel like you're implying that you are judging me internally.

Yeah, I've had that one said to me too. "It's ok, we accept you. It's your choice after all". :rolle:

Add on "Maybe it's a phase, how long have you been like this?". :rolle:

    You: *accidentaly touches straight friend*
Friend: are you coming on to me?

Dad: you're bisexual so you're gay right
Me: that's not how LGBTQ works dad

Me: I don't like how that girl looks
Dad: but I thought you liked everyone

    Me: *looks like a guy*
Mom: *in denial* my DAUGHTER. SHE likes this shirt. SHE wants to know how much it is. Yes, it's for HER party.
Me: *sigh and says in small voice* my son, he likes, he wants, his party....

Friend: "I totally support gay people but I don't like it when they're around me because then I feel really uncomfortable." (She knew I'm gay. To which I was tempted to reply 'yeah, straight people make me uncomfortable, too.' I didn't.)

Sister: "I think it's fine if other people are gay, but you're not allowed to be gay because then you'd get bullied." (Wut.)

Sister, in every argument ever: "At least I'm not a leessbiiaann!"

"But how does one even find out that they're a lesbian?" a friend asked me recently.

This one isn't that bad, but more so it just tickled me. The way they asked made it sounds like you get an invitation or something. "Surprise, you're a lesbian".

Also from the same friend, "You're like the only gay person I know!"

Um...yay? I doubt that anyway, I'm probably the only gay person that he knows of the fact they're gay.

    ---------- Post added 31st Dec 2016 at 10:23 PM ----------

That was probably worded badly. *I'm probably the only person who is gay, that he knows is gay, but he probably knows other gay people without realising.
