The future of dating is bleak. I suspect more and more people will accept robots as sexual partners not so long into the future. Advancements in sexbots will be made and soon it will be normal to be in such a relationship. But is this a bad thing? I personally don't think so. I know everyone is on to this robot apocalypse bandwagon but I never really subscribed to that. Virtual reality will also prove to be another alternative. Opening your heart and sharing your life with another person has proven to be quite risky. And for a lot of people it's just not going to happen. Robots are a safe alternative. So what do you think? Would you make love to a robot? Do you think that our future is headed in thatdirection? Just thought this would be an interesting discussion.

And yeah I know they'll probably be no real sexbots in the future. But sex dolls will probably become more advanced.

Nah robots aren't going to replace people in relationships. The emotional connection is what makes relationships so great, and a robot can't provide that - not in a healthy way at least.

I mean I'd be cool with trying it with a robot just to see how it is, but I'd always prefer a person to spend time with. I don't think robots would snuggle very well either and that's important to me.

Virtual reality won't affect much - it'll just make porn better but it can't replace a real person.

I agree. A robot is cannot offer that deep emotional connection. However, its becoming harder and harder to find someone to spark up a relationship with. Because of a number of factors. Soon people will have to make a choice whether to stay alone or at least have something that mimics a relationship with a person. Personally I highly doubt we'll ever have robots such as that. But sex dolls will become more and more popular. As well as a rise in other strange fetishes.

I mean 'safer' in the sense that you can't get an STI from it, assuming its not shared. Also its unlikely that the robot will kill you, unless your doing BDSM and it goes a bit wrong.

I'm not sure i'd be able to f$^k a robot - in terms of the logistics. Lesbian sex is very turn based (so I do her while getting no pleasure, then she does me while getting no pleasure herself). I can't see why I would want to pretend to pleasure a robot - I guess it can have pleasure sounds programmed into it, but I'm the type of person to mute porn because the fake sounds ruin it for me. As for me receiving, I dunno what's the point w£$king feels better then sex anyway. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I do think the future is headed in that way. Everyone can have an incredibly attractive partner with a perfect 10/10 face, perfect customisable 10/10 body. Someone who is always 'turned on' when you are and someone who will always be happy to do the type of sex you want to do.

No compromises and no looking miserable while forcing its way through sex while its secretly doing a shopping list in its head. No laying back and thinking of England. The Family Guy episodes with British Porn spring to mind:

I have seen videos of these robots on youtube. Japan and China are really leading the way with realistic robots, some of them I couldn't tell weren't people from the photos. They can talk and laugh and engage in conversation. Theres an American company which specialise in ultra realistic sex dolls (not robots as no electrics/wiring etc) and I was very surprised by how attractive they were.

That's the anxiety about romantic love that makes people delusional or instead renunciative to it. Anxiety because monogamous romantic love is overrated compared to other kinds of love: platonic, friendly, charitable, non-monogamous, family... If only we didn't ground our happiness too much on just romantic monogamous love...
