If you live in America, or...live in the 21st century, you'll know that America has a bit of a gun problem. There was a shooting at a fucking garlic festival, so, a shooting at a Pride Parade isn't too far-fetched. I've never been to a pride, and always wanted to go, but, what if there's a shooting?

I don't fear death, but, I'd rather not die - or get my ally friend killed.

Can’t live in fear man. You could die in your waynto work. Actually your more likely to die from slipping in the shower than you are from a mass shooting.

    Hey @Cow

That’s a tough one. Does your Pride Society have anything on their website about safety while attending events? Are there smaller events that appeal to you that would have a safer feel? I think you should do what feels comfortable to you. Going and being anxious the whole time won’t be fun.

You’re kind of letting them win by not going.

Pride is just happening where I live and security had a larger presence which I don’t blame them at all. It’s normal to be fearful about it but at the same I know I cannot live life in fear and just got to be cautious and safe as possible,

i'm not the best on this because i live in a southern area where theres quite a bit of shootings, even my school makes us do school shooter drills. so much shootings kind of dulls you on the danger of it all. the best thing to do is be alert though, you never know. there's not like a super high chance, but still... you just gotta be prepared. i wish you the best of luck.

Don't let the media scare you into hiding in your house or apartment all the time.

When you go to things like pride or concerts or big events of any kind, you should keep an eye out for: security personal, first aid stations, event staff and where exits are. Not so much as being paranoid but you can be of assistance if someone falls and gets a cut or maybe an older person is having problems breathing or some douche bag is harassing others. Maybe some kid gets separated from their parents, you can take them to security so they can be safe while parents are paged. Heck someone might just not know where something is, at least you could say you saw an event staff person over by the light post.
