So I was hoping to get a clearer understanding of the differences between several terms... Transman Transmasculine Demiguy bigender I know what the terms mean independently, but I wanted to hear how they compare, particularly transmasculine:demiguy.
Transman- Female-to-Male Transexual Transmasculine- Someone who was assigned female at birth, but identify as male more so than female Demiguy- a persn who feels partial identification as a boy/man Bigender- a person who feels they are two genders. Anyone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on the last two, I'm not quite certain either.
So how would you differentiate between transmasculine and demiguy? "male more so than female" as in there is some association with the female gender with transmasculine but none with demiguy? Thanks for the input!
I think... Transmasculine- Someone who was FAAB, but identifies more with the male gender than with female. Demiguy- Someone who identifies partially, not wholly, as male, but doesn't necessarily identify with the female gender or any other gender. I hope that gives you a better idea
It does, yeah! I've seen demiguy given in a few indexes/terminology pages, but I don't think I've met someone who identifies as a demiguy yet. So when someone identifies as transmasculine as opposed to a transmale, there is still some association with the female gender?
Transman = transexual= person who has medically transitioned. Trandmasculine I believe means you haven't yet but still identify as a man...? Not 100% certain on that one. ^^;
Transmasculine just refers to the directionality of their gender. A transman may or may not be transsexual but is transgender and transmasculine (female >>> male).
