I'm 22 and realized I was a lesbian last December. I'm still in the closet and it's been driving me crazy but now I think i know why. I'm bottling everything in since I really have no one to talk to. I think I just need lesbian friends who I can talk to and who understand what I'm going through. Here in Tennessee, I'm having trouble finding the lesbian community.
Things are pretty desolate here in the southeast states, not a whole lot of questioning, reasoning or accepting going on. My kind of people tend to be few and far in between, seems to be that way with everyone who doesn't "fit in" here, I assume it's because most are afraid to come out. I won't come out publicly until I get out of here for that reason, heh. There are others without a doubt, just not many willing to admit it in fear of rejection and hostility. Some of the crazier states do have certain cities that act as a refuge from this, but they tend to be pretty spaced out as well. I've managed to find others by hanging around the types others don't associate with, was great to realize I wasn't alone out here. I'd say to avoid assumptions, but keep an eye out. Sometimes you just have to look in different places.
I'm from Illinois, but feel free to send me a message to my wall if you need someone to talk to about whichever!
I'm from Arkansas, and yeah, it can be tough to find us. Add me to the list of people you can talk to.
I live in Georgia and trust it is hard. So all you have is like apps to find other LGBTQA people. But, I am here if you wanna talk about stuff!
I live in Northeast TN so I definitely know what you mean. It's a shame that finding support is so still so hard to find in some areas. Feel free to message me anytime if you feel like chatting
Well everyone on EC is usually good to chat to so go for it. Most of us live in other states or countries but it's not a bad place to start.
Hello What do you want to talk about? It's your chat thread after all.... Trump v Clinton, Christianity v Islam or the normal every day stuff? Are you working, studying, travelling, watching TV...?
I don't even live in the same country as you, never mind the same state, but I'd be happy to talk to you about stuff whenever you want Just drop me a message and I'll get back to you xx
I'm here to talk if you'd like! I don't actually live in America, but I do live in a tiny little village where the only other LGBTQ+ person (who I know of, anyway) is a gay man who is probably at least 35. He seems pretty nice, but it's not like we talk, so I know that feeling of wanting to find others like yourself.
