I've never been happier to be wrong about Anthony Kennedy. I honestly didn't think the Court could come up with the right decision in this case. Had we lost this case, it would have been catastrophic.

It's a wonderful day for our people. And it's a real embarrassment that the United States is a place where the democratic process fails to render equal rights fast enough that the judiciary has to perform its checking function within our system of government. When people ask me why I'm so negative about the United States, it's stuff like this. Our people don't make the right decision on their own. Instead, circumstances force them to do the right thing.

Remember, Ireland did this with a vote.

It's exactly like Dan Savage said. "We'll get gay marriage. We'll be last. So when we get it, we'll be last, and we will blow ourselves [about our moral leadership on the world stage.]

    Re: All 50 states legalized....!!!

Dude there's a bunch of ignorant angry Americans threatening to move to Canada after this, not realizing that Canada has marriage equality already (and also gun control and free healthcare and a much smaller NASCAR fan base). I say if they really want to move to a place governed by religious doctrine that forbids homosexuality and the rights of women and other minorities, they should try living under ISIS.

    Was watching Fox earlier.

The times they've talked about gay marrige it wasn't exactly a meltdown but there was a shouty man on Outnumbered who wasn't too happy and one of them quoted Tony Perkins. Todd Starnes losing the plot has been the biggest embarrassment so far - Todd Starnes Warns Pastors Who Refuse To Perform Gay Marriages To 'Prepare For Hate Crime Charges' | Right Wing Watch

Still Hannity & O'Reilly later tonight though

    Yay love won!!!

People have been swimming upstream culturally and legally for a very long time to make this happen. The supreme court decision today will be in every American history book and will be remembered as a WIN for human rights! :eusa_clap

That's hilarious. Is that from inside the court? I thought cameras were banned.

The day we've all been waiting for. Congratulations to everyone who has spent countless years advocating for this and to everyone who supports equality and human dignitity.

And a big fuck you to all of the homophobic sacks of shit who have acted as a road block to gay rights for decades, and still to this day spout anti-gay nonsense. In short time you'll be viewed just as the degenerate racists of the past are viewed today. Have a blessed evening.

I wasn't surprised about Scalia, since he's made comments defending the Ten Commandments before.

It's amazing, and a huge step in the right direction. We still have a long way to go, but this is a huge step for humanity
