The other thing that this means is that the LGBT community can spend it's energy and time focusing on other matters that would be put aside before. Another thing to be grateful for.

This is great news. I have no words. But what saddens a cousin who claimed to fully support me and love me as i am posted a thing on Facebook about how it is not right with God and is not the true word of God. What a Coward. I had a feeling she felt that way but the fact she was not totally honest with me i am thinking of blocking her. It is just too bad but hey on the bright side Marriage Equality is here!

    All 50 states legalized....!!!

Did everyone hear the news?! Gay marriage is now legal in ALL 50 states. I haven't been apart of the suffrage since I thought I was straight back then but how does everyone feel? I feel like it's overly publicized still when it should just happen, ya know? It's good for everyone to be recognizing that marriage should be equal but I still feel like as a human being everyone should've recognized this a long time ago :eusa_doh:Am I the only one?

Anyways, this day makes history in America so that's the bright side of things :eusa_clap

    Supreme Court Ruling

I am sitting here at 35,000 feet reading the news and smiling as all of the news sites reports on the SCOTUS ruling allowing for Marriage Equality. This is a good day for the U.S.

Time to celebrate and reflect for sure.

Then off to the next fight - Anti Discrimination.

    Congrats to all!

    - Gay Men's Chorus of D.C. is marching up and down the street singing Show Tunes and Patriotic Songs. Just saw them on MSNBC.

    - Mary Bonauto says that some states can still try to legally delay, but they can't stop it. However, her exact words when Pete Williams asked her 'Is it over?' She looks at the camera, and she says 'It is over.'

    - It's starting to sink in across the country. It is over. We have won marriage, and there is nothing that can be done to undermine that fundamental right.

    - Chad Griffin, 'The fight goes on. We still live in a country where you can be married at 10 AM, fired from your job at Noon, and evicted from your home by 2 PM.' Similar stances were taken by other groups, such as the Victory Fund. This is good to see. The Fight Goes On. We celebrate today, but get back to work tomorrow. This is the beginning, not the end, of our fight for equality.

I agree Quem. It is amazing. If you research American history, specifically during the Roaring 20s, gay rights and behavior were openly visible in public. Then came the Great Depression which brought religious people (Christians) saying the depression (partially) was brought on by the sins of gay people. Slowly gay rights disappeared. It took 95 years to make a come back.

This legal ruling makes it (LGBT marriage) feel so much better. Personally the ruling helps me except myself a little more.

    Now lets party!

My folks called me from Michigan to let me know the news when I was on the train to work.

"You two can move back now", my mom said, and I was really happy, because we both plan to move back to our home state in a year or two, and now, we'll still be married there. We got married here in Maryland on Dec. 8, 2014. Now, we could live anywhere, and it feels amazing, not to have to live only in certain states to have basic rights.

Happy for the US, especially since the dissenters only managed to rely on typical irrational canards, appealt to tradition fallicies and arguments against the very existence of SCOTUS.
