    I knock on the door hesitantly, then nearly gag as I catch the scent of rock salt. It smells like it's coming from right on the other side of the door. I step backwards, away from the door, while holding my nose.

    He narrows his eyes suspiciously. "Come in." He closes the door, unlocks the chain, and opens it again. There's a thin line of salt at the doorstep, and since the door is slightly higher than the floor, it's still unbroken.
