Subtle accessory?

Discussion in 'Entertainment and Technology' started by inevertoldyou, Apr 17, 2012.

  1. I don't know the first thing about fashion, so yea. I want something that I can wear, preferably hidden at least for now, that's some sort of lgbt symbol. Any advice?

Wow I have also been looking for same thing. Are you looking for ring, bracelet?:icon_bigg

  3. A ring would work, but ideally a necklace, something I can hide unless I want to display it. And I don't want it to scream "LOOK AT ME" I want it to be subtle that only someone who may also be lgbt would realize what it was about? Like rainbow bracelets seem a bit much.

I have a double helix bracelet that is rainbow. It doesn't have the stripes that are on the pride flag, but if you knew, you might guess. But for people who ask who I don't want to come out to, I just say that it's pretty, so I wear it. Which is parat of it, I guess.

  8. Nice, simple, and understated. No one would give it a 2nd thought.

I dont understand what the second one means? Is that a lgbt symbol on the ring? I thought the necklace was cool and the words on it are pretty meaningful to somebody thats had to come out of the closet or is trying to

I made these two bracelets for friends (one is obviously rainbow, the other is blue, purple and pink for bi pride), and have one that I made for myself which is two links of each color together, so it's a little sturdier.

I know this is an old thread but I just want to share my experience.

I am a finance professional and have decided to wear some kind of iconography on a daily basis. I am out to my family and co-workers as well as anyone who asks.

I decided to wear a pride ring on my left thumb (I'm told this is the finger for someone who is single). I hoped it would be a statement piece or a conversation starter. Unfortunately VERY few people have recognised it for what it is. Today I had the experience of a right-wing Christian fundamentalist, who actually too it off my finger and looked at the colours of the rainbow (I wanted to his reaction) and to my surprise he told me how well it was designed and that it looked pretty. I think that pride jewelry may be over-rated?

I bought my girlfriend and I necklaces from loveandpride a few years ago.. The issue I had was that I ordered them at the beginning of Nov. in hopes of getting them before Christmas and according to the shipping I paid and what it said it they were suppose to be delivered weeks before Christmas, I had to contact them several times, and ended up not getting them until almost a week after Christmas. Loved the necklaces when they came, but the shipping time was ridiculous.

I am working on designing a subtle jewellery line, to be only sold on etsy.
Will post pics once I finally get everything worked out. Plus a link if someone requests.

That being said, I wear baseball caps, sunglasses, rubber bracelets and big watches.
