Hey, everyone, I haven't been on in a while but, I'm just here to tell a little story. The other day I was working, and I had to clean the bathrooms. It was the day after Trump canceled Title IX to protect transgenders' rights to use the bathroom they identify. A guest asked me if "Men can still go into Women's bathrooms." I was flabbergasted because I live in California, and I don't typically see bigotry. I never truly had to defend my LGBT+ community before. I responded, "No men can't go into the women's bathroom, but if she identifies as a female, then she can use the women's bathroom." After that, the guy just looked at me and said: "Dude, you're weird..." Well, you know what? Fine. If being weird means standing up transgender people I will be weird. If I'm weird for standing up for gays, lesbians, asexuals, and the rest of the community I will gladly be weird. If I am weird for standing up for women's rights, blacks' rights, Muslim rights, or any disenfranchised group, I will be weird. I may be gay, but I am still a white man. I have privileges that many people don't have. The least I could do is to stand up for those who are deemed to less. They are not lesser. They are equal. Everyone is equal. Right now, there is so much hate in the world, but we need to change that. So now, more than ever, we all need to stand together. Whether you are a man or a woman, whether you are black, white, Latino, Asian, or a mix, whether you are straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, or another sexual orientation, whether you are CIS or transgender, WE ARE ALL HUMAN! It's a miracle humankind exists. Let's treasure our gift of life. Let's have the courage to help everyone and anyone. YOU MATTER I MATTER EVERYONE MATTERS. STAND TOGETHER. (*hug*)(*hug*)(*hug*)(*hug*)(*hug*)
Yes, yes, yes :eusa_clap Being in one marginalised group doesn't mean you should not be there for people of other marginalised groups. We all need each other (&&&)
Hear hear!! I'm willing to stand up to bigotry, mysogeony, and homophobia because the hatred and ignorance should never be allowed to trump love, compassion, and wisdom.
