Stance on having kids?

Right now I don't. That might change and I used to. But I'd need to be in a much better place financially at least. With the state of the economy being the way it is, unless something seriously shifts I doubt I'd be able to afford to have or adopt any either way.

 

I gotcha, I wouldn't mind being a girl dad but I never got to do father-son type stuff- so I want a kid who wouldn't have a dad otherwise to get to do that with me. Pass it forward, you know?

I would absolutely love to have children. Myself and my girlfriend have discussed it at great length and she feels the same. Sadly I would not be able to carry a child myself due to medication I have to take to keep myself mentally well which isn’t safe to take during pregnancy and I am also at risk of complications due to a physical health issue I have but my girlfriend is keen on the idea of carrying a child or we would adopt. I do often worry I wouldn’t be a good mum but I would love my child no matter what. I also worry about any children I have being picked on for having two mums. I’m not sure if this is odd but I have names I like too haha!

 

I’m so glad to hear you say that lol. I did exactly the same! I was a weird kid too so don’t worry haha. For boys I like the names: Oliver, Noah and Bodhi and for girls I like: Victoria, Amelia (maybe shortened to Mia if she liked that), Verity and Ivy. I am much keener on the name Victoria than Vicky but if she liked that I would obviously call her that. The shortened versions I like are Tori or Toria, I think they are so sweet lol but Victoria has been my favourite girls name for years. Do you have any names you like?

 

So do I! Aww that’s so sweet, what are their names? I follow quite a few lesbian youtubers on social media, some of which are couples. I have never met a Verity either, I think it’s a very unusual name! Those are gorgeous names, I especially love Elodie! I actually know a Lavinia, well she is more of an acquaintance. Do you have any boy names you like?

 

I haven’t heard of them, I think I will look them up! I think everyone knows Rose and Rosie but I find them hilarious lol. As I said, I have a lot of lesbian couples/youtubers I follow. I’m the same for some reason! I wouldn’t mind if I had a boy or girl though but obviously their gender could change over time which I would be extremely supportive of! I would like to have more than one child though. Probably two or maybe three but it can be expensive for lesbian couples to have children but I also like the idea of adopting too.

I don't dislike kids per se, they can be funny but not for too long.
Looking after my own self is already hard enough and if given the time and opportunity there are tons of things I'd find more interesting and fulfilling than raising children.
I probably wouldn't be a good parent in that even if I try my hardest, my own grasp of the world is not good enough for me to help a child understand it. I can barely read emotions and am oblivious to way too many things.

and, while it would be specific to having "biological" children, the dread I feel everytime I hear someone my age has had children is more than I can already handle. I know it's really harsh and I don't mean to guilt trip anyone... but bringing someone to life is not necessarily a gift in my eyes.

 

It really is sad. I would like my child to have a sibling too and hope they have a great relationship like me and my brother, we are close in age so that probably helps. Yes you are right that it may be cost prohibitive. That would be so cool- I hope you manage to get your wish of doing that! I would love to do that too but sadly it’s not possible for me as I said above but my girlfriend is keen to carry a child.
