Hello, I was thinking if I were to have children, I'd like to name my first born girl either Sophie Rose or Sophia Rose - but I'm not sure which variant sounds better. So, in terms of how it sounds, which one do you think is better? Also [comment below] does Sofias Rhodon sound good for a boy? Thank-you.
Sophie Rose rolls off the tongue quicker/easier. No idea about that side of the pond, but the second name isn't common at all for a boy, here. This might be the first time I've heard it.
I agree with @gravechild that Sophie Rose sounds better. Sofias, sounds alright as a name but I would not give him a middle name, I am not too keen on Rhodon, nor would I really know how to pronounce it. In my country you never really give people middle names so I never really understood the trend, but those will be your children so call them like you want. You may want to consider though that your partner, whoever they may be, may want to veto those names, so I would say don't focus too much on names as who knows how you may feel when it finally happens.
IPA phonetics: ɹəʊdʌn If you don't understand IPA phonetics: Row-Dun (Row as in a boat, Dun as the greyish-brown colour) It's Greek for Rose, but sounds masculine even though 'Rose' is feminine.
