There are several songs that remind me of my ex, to the point that they subconsciously play in my head when I think of her. I'm the kind of person who attributes theme songs to everything I can think of. Out of all of them, the one song that fits my relationship with my ex girlfriend the best (I picked this out even before she left me) is "Tear in My Heart" by Twenty-one Pilots.

She was my first love; I gave her everything I had. I was so intoxicated; I would have done anything for her, tried to. But she was cruel. Kept abandoning me with no word or reason. To the point my body temperature literally dropped until I shivered in depression. I was borderline-suicidal and very unstable many times. Yet still I loved her, still I miss her, and this song makes me want to cry.

    You fell asleep in my
Car, I drove the whole time
    But that's okay
I'll just avoid the holes so you sleep fine
    I'm driving, here I sit
    Cursing my government
For not using my taxes to fill holes with more cement

    My heart is my armor
She's the tear in my heart
    She's a carver
    She's a butcher with a smile
    Cut me farther
    Than I've ever been

Anybody else with a theme song to share?

Edit: Ah crap, I meant to put this in Entertainment and Media, I think...

Oh, wow, sorry to hear. I hope you're doing alright now. (*hug*)

As for songs, there are way too many that remind me of him. :/ I try to avoid listening to them, but sometimes I just give in and listen till I start to cry. :icon_redf

    This is one of them:

I remember singing to him a little bit of this song in a voice message and then sending him part of the lyrics, as well. It was before we even met... actually, that was the first time he heard my voice. I think I sang to him another part of this song when we met IRL, too - before or after our first date.

It's been long enough already that I should really just be over her already, and even though I'm somewhat relieved that it's over because it was crashing and burning near the end anyways, I still can't help but think of her in almost any lyrics I hear.

We had a song, we'd sing it to each other and listen to it together whenever we'd stay the night at each other's places. It's a twenty one pilots (looks like we've got something in common) cover of a song by Elvis called 'Can't Help Falling In Love' and I used to love it so much before, but now I can't even bring myself to listen to it.

Other than that, near the end of the relationship when it was really going to hell and we were really struggling to stay together, two songs really stuck out to me. 'Rootless Tree' by Damien Rice and 'Falling' by The Civil Wars, which are both gorgeous songs by the way and you should definitely listen to, really helped me realize that we both weren't in a good place with ourselves and this relationship and it'd be best for us to go our separate ways with no hard feelings.

Anyways, best of luck to the both of you, I hope you're both doing okay

The old song from the 50's or 60's that goes "You talk to much, you bore me to death...", reminds my of my 8th grade girlfriend Jennifer. She could go on and on.

Haha, it's funny because there wasn't one until I saw this thread, but now that I think about it...

It was never an actual relationship (so sorry for bending the rules), but it nearly was and it was an awkward "I like you, you like me, but..." thing. Then it went downhill. So here's my song for her:
