I'm feeling a bit nervous and anxious for tomorrow. I am about to testify against two anti LGBTQ+ bills and I am hoping it goes well.
Song that fits my mood: "Black Tar" by SawanoHiroyuki adding vocals of David Whitaker and Mpi.


Reason it fits my mood: the music reflects my anxiety of preparing for a mental battle and hoping that everything goes well. The music gives off a feeling of intensity as well as the lyrics and they reflect a dire situation which I feel like I'm in....because LGBTQ+ rights are on the line in my home state (which I hope won't be my home state after this year.)

 

Another song that fits my mood: Fake It by Sawano Hiroyuki adding vocals from Laco.

 

I am very sorry to hear about your friend. I can't imagine how painful that is...my father lost a friend to suicide and he also had a big impact on my life growing up. It is a pain that no words can comfort. I do however offer my empathy and condolences and internet hugs.

 

Song that fits my mood: From Shadows by Casey Lee Williams

The reason this song fits my mood is because I relate to this song. Being in the trans community and having politicians constantly trying to erase your existence is frustrating. This song talks about rising above the odds and protesting against those who are trying to oppress you. I attended a rally today in the hopes of advocating for the LGBTQ+ youth in my homestate. So I find this song applicable to today.

 

This song also fits today too.

Reason being, I am stubborn as hell and somehow even through all the dark shit I've been through up until this point...I'm somehow still here and I'm fighting like hell to keep going and clinging to every bit of hope that I can find.

First of all, welcome back. I'm glad you're here. And I completely get having a rough week..I've had a couple of those myself these past few weeks with everything going on. I hope you're doing better, in a safe place and if you need to talk, we're here for you.

 

Song Mood: Gavin Degraw - "I Don't Wanna Be"


I'm kinda at a crossroads here when it comes to expressing myself. There's this one site I got my start on posting art and stuff about 15 to 20+ years ago. I joined the site in middle school, I'm now 30 going on 31.

Anyways, long story short, I draw LGBT+ content in my work because it's apart of who I am. And on this site I've been getting less and less comfortable posting my work. I hardly receive any feedback and had somebody telling me people don't comment on my stuff because theyre "uncomfortable with the LGBT+ lifestyle." I'm thinking to myself....it's not a lifestyle....it's who I am. Well it's a part of who I am. I'm not going to censor myself for those who feel "uncomfortable" with me. I'm sorry. So that's why I chose this song. I don't want to be anything other than me...a guy who's been transitioning for the past 7-8 years now. I'm tired of tiptoeing around trying to make sure people are "comfortable" with me and my work. I ain't gonna do it anymore. Sorry had to get that off my chest.
