I tend to associate songs with moments in my life because I listen to new songs I like continuously until I get tired of them. So, I usually have a song that reminds me of a crush or someone I liked in the past.

I am reminded of my most recent crush whenever I hear "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes because I started liking him around the time I first heard the song. Ironically, it is my favorite song of all-time and one of the few songs I will never, ever get tired of.

Do you have any songs that remind you of a past crush, someone you liked, or boyfriend / girlfriend?

Yes! I'm the exact same. I have a pretty good memory for useless things too, so I associate certain songs with specific life events, like writing an essay, or bellringer :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    For example:
-Someday We'll Know (New Rads) reminds me of writing a botany essay
-Blue Osyter Cult and Split Enz reminds me of preparing for a bell ringer
-Go With The Flow (QotSA) and Good (Better than Ezra) remind me of my friend because I was listening to them on repeat around the time we last hung out.

Well, I can tell you right now as a freshly single guy that techno music and Euro is always gonna remind me of my ex. I have a weird thing for blondes who listen to electronic music, going by my last two exes.

The person I like is a musician, so when I hear any of his songs, of course I am reminded of him.

"Paradise"-Three days after my uncle died I was driving home from work. The sun peeked out of thick winter cloud cover and "Paradise" by Coldplay began to play. In that moment, I could totally "feel" him shining down on me. He was okay. I bawled like a baby.

"Rooster" by Alice in Chains-I always think of the veterans who have died and are suffering in the VA.

Anything by Live-My male cousin was obsessed with them and had them on his Myspace playlist back in the day.

Panic at the Disco, AFI, and Fallout Boy-My female cousins were obsessed with all three bands in the mid 00's.

"Hella Good" by No Doubt-It topped the charts in 2002 when we were on our high school senior trip to Florida.

"Sandstorm" by DaRude. This was always played at basketball home games to hype up the crowd.

"Low Places" by Garth Brooks-It reminds me of my aunt who introduced me to country music.

Eiffel 65 "I'm Blue"-It reminds me of a guy from jr. high that had the song in his parents' jukebox at home.

MxPx "Chick Magnet", Insyderz, Five Iron Frenzy(ska, punk)-These were all songs in the jukebox at a Christian camp we attended as part of my Christian school's end of the year trip in jr. high.

I have tons more. Most old songs remind me of something.

"How" -- by the Cranberries makes me think of a sort-of friend of mine. Our relationship is complicated, basically. He actually gets three or four songs, but this one especially.
Now you're just walking away (Walking away),
When you said you always would stay (Always would stay.)

And about a gazillion songs remind me of my girlfriend, but I'll just leave one.

I do tend to associate songs with books that I read while listening to them. People, though - I try extremely hard not to do that. It's a good way to ruin a good song if you ever fall out with them.

Don't really have any songs to describe people in real life, but the song "Shot In The Dark" by Ozzy reminds me of one of the main characters in the novel I wrote. Kind of dumb.
