Hey, so I need a dance for my uni auditions and I'm gonna do it in a contemporary/ballet style. My teacher told me to look for music but the only guidance she gave was 'something that makes you wanna dance'. I've got Warriors- Imagine Dragons and the Avengers theme tune (because it is the coolest) but I don't know if she'd be happy with them so has anyone got any suggestions? Any genre is welcome x

Something slow that was used in '13 Reasons Why', a netflix original that came out last year is The Night We Met by Lord Huron. It's definitely a slow tune, but a good one. Some fantastic upbeat music can be Moonlight by Grace VanderWall, and I can't stop listening to I Wanna Go Out by American Authors. Such a good song! If you've got a spotify account, check out their Everyday Favourites playlist. It's got some great beats there. The Teen Party playlist is also full of good upbeat music.

I really like Green Light and Perfect Places [explicit] by Lorde, No Vacancy by One Republic, I'm Born to Run by American Authors, Could This Be Love by The Wanted, You're Such A by Hailee Steinfeld, I Feel The Love by Tritonal, Thunder by Imagine Dragons, It Ain't Me by Kygo and Selena Gomez, and, not to be that person, but either the remix or the original Despacito by Luis Fonsi (remix with Justin Beiber) will have a great beat.

I've bolded my favourites. Good luck!

For sure. The second I read that title I started humming the tune.

I would never recommend Despacito(not a good song and never will be), Good music is maybe try some Humanoid Invasion by Laserdance, Trek to Iguanas by Galaxion or Phenomenon by Everdune. But you said Ballet, so I've got someone interesting. It's kind of a combination of classical music with electronic so you might be able to dance some ballet to the music.

Aoheth by Dvar.(my biggest suggestion) and maybe listen to some of the other songs by Dvar because a lot of their music has classical taste but with elements of electronic.

You could also try Jaga Jazzist and the Shinkansen song on the Starfire album for a more modern Nu Jazz sound. It's not super danceable but the has a fairly slow tune and sounds like something you can do a fairly graceful and slow dance to.

These are all pretty much in the pop/techno genre, I guess:

    The Cure - Lady Gaga
    Clean - Taylor Swift
    Weak - AJR
    Amsterdam - Imagine Dragons
Nothing Left to Say - Imagine Dragons
I'd Love to Change the World - Jetta (Matstubs Remix)
    Halo - Beyonce

IDK, but I also really like kpop:

    Wedding Dress - Taeyang
    1AM - Taeyang
    Dead Leaves - BTS
    Like Oh - Got7
    Hurt - EXO
    Melted - AKMU
I Wanted to Love - Minzy
    Love Blossom - Kwill
    Camo - BoA
    The Day Before - NELL

These two aren't really suggestions, but I would be really intrigued seeing choreo for these. They are quite a bit more hardcore and upbeat compared to the songs above, but I do think that they could have potential for something dance related (maybe not ur audition tho):

DragonBlade - Nerd Out (Prod by Boston)

    Top Dog - Topp Dogg
