Back to the topic, I haven't had anyone distinctly call me "he" or "him" yet, but someone at a clothing store I was shopping at seemed confused about my gender, since I was dressed in gender neutral clothing and shopping for guys' clothing. When one lady asked who was next in line for the dressing room, the other lady gestured toward me, and said "This..." and hesitated as if she didn't know what gender I was. It made me happy.

This past Halloween I dressed as an "alternative tomboy" (my excuse to be masculine for a day) and one of my peers thought I was a new kid because I looked so much a boy. I almost cried out of joy.

Went to the bathroom and bumped into another woman on the way out. Went right past her without a second glance.

Yesterday I was at the doctors office. My doctor came back in and said one of the nurses said, is that your patient?

    Yea why?

    She's gorgeous.

I don't know why I was so worried about the bathroom thing. I think most people get the purpose of them. Actually, at the mini maker faire, I ran into one of the volunteer coordinators in the bathroom, and we talked for a minute or so about where we needed coverage. I received not as much as a strange look in there.

You walk in like you own the place, no one gives a second thought.

True of most things, I suppose. That's how certain social engineering attacks work... The attacker acts like they know what they are doing, and walk right in the front door. No questions asked.

Oh, and earlier in the day, I'm certain she heard one or two of the other volunteers refer to me with male pronouns. (I knew them previously, this was one of the first events I attended in female mode where I would have known people previously)

This happened last fall, but when I was working and an old man asked me and my co-worker (who's much older than me) to blow some leaves off the roof of his camper (I wasn't trying to pass at the time) and he says to my co-worker "let the young man go up on the ladder." I felt so happy he seen me as a guy.

So I was walking home with a neighbor I don't know that long ... and he said that for the first two months he knew me he thought I was a boy and how he was always really confused when people referred to me as my (really feminine) birthname. I couldn't believe it since I don't pass that often and he actually believed for two whole months while me being called my birthname that I was a boy! Wow, that made me just so happy. And then I asked "But my voice does sound female, so why ...?" and he just said "Oh well ... it's quite deep actually" and that was like the second or third time someone told me they couldn't tell if my voice was female or male, so that made the whole thing even better. This was just a really good day for me and it made me feel so confident, even though I think I look really feminine. I also considered that I might pass better as I thought I did. Of course I only pass as a 12-year-old boy just before puberty, but it's a lot better than not passing at all and being seen as a 13-year-old girl.

Oh and this is my very first post here at all, I'm happy I finally did it.

So these were my victories for today

The guy behind the cinema's counter called me mate. Girls get love, boys get mate. It was a good moment for me.

I decided I am going to try to get top surgery and my therapist gave me the official gender dysforia diagnosis and is working on a letter of support. I may be able to do this soon! And it should be covered by insurance.

I'm so excited (and terrified, but mostly excited)!
