This was a while back, but when I started questioning so it was huge for me.

I was exiting the bathroom (women's, the one I still use) when a guy saw me. He started walking toward me and I got a little scared. I walked faster and farther away. When I turned around I saw him look at the door sign then do a 180 and walk awkwardly away... he thought I was a dude :eusa_danc And that's the story of how I found out that basketball shorts and my Aquaman shirt with a beanie is my most masc outfit.

Even when I have to show my ID, no one seems to pay attention to my name or the F on there. They only comment on how young I look. Today it was "You're only 24? You're a lucky man." I think that's the first time I've actually been called a man. I get called "man" but not "a man". Or I'll get guy or even boy.

hahah thank you and that's awesome!

    Thank you~~

Hahah ikr? Thank you. Awkward pose is awkward. my butt was comfy tho, really lol. Plus I was just sick and tired of only having top shots when I decide to take a picture of myself since my brother doesn't have a full length mirror. That is something I'll probably inves tin when I have my own place... which might be soon. I got the money. Been looking at a few places...

Your butt was comfy on that?

And trust me I know the feeling of not having a full length mirror at home. Sadness.

Closest I got is a cabinet, the kind you use to display stuff in, which has a mirror behind the glass shelves.

It isn't my cabinet, but it is in the house. I might get a real full length mirror when I move out, if I can.

lol strangely enough, yes. My butt was comfy on it. Or at least, it definitely wasn't uncomfortable.

As a victory of my own; I had a fantastic visit with my therapist yesterday, my son's counselor told us he doesn't need to see her regularly anymore just as needed. and I have an appointment with the Clinic for HRT 'script. (!)(!)(!)(!)(!)

Haircut feels great, and I was actually excited to get ready for work this morning and try to style my hair. It actually came out really well too!

Mum asked my brother if she'd told him about an event, then realized she had been telling me about it and went, "No, not you, him. No. Yes." Then put her hands to her head and made a noise - not quite a scream, but it showed her frustration.

That doesn't sound like a victory, I know, but it's the first time she's referred to me as "him" without thinking. I'll probably get she again now, but at least I know she hasn't just ignored my coming out. We are getting there.

I FINALLY used the men's restroom at school! I was worried I would walk in and have people wierded out, so I didn't do it for a while, but then when I went in there today, nobody even looked twice at me!

    Re: Small Victories

Yesterday I went to an appointment relating, mainly, to two of the disorders I have and how it's affecting me at school and at home, and apparently my mum told someone about me coming out to her a while back, because the lady sitting beside me (her job title was "Adolescent Medicine Specialist," I believe) had a sheet listing off some of the issues I'm having and at the bottom, highlighted in orange, was "Gender identity issues." I almost jumped out of my skin when I read that, but it was in the middle of the meeting so I tried not to act freaked out or anything when I read it. Later on, I was given a chance to talk to her on my own and with my mum, and that was one of the things we talked about. I didn't tell her very much about what I'm experiencing and how I'm feeling, since I'm somewhat nervous to talk to people about those kinds of things, especially if it's to someone I'd only just met. I'm now being referred to someone who deals specifically with gender identity-related issues at the Children's Hospital in my city. I was thinking it'd take a lot longer for me to be referred to someone specifically for this.

TL;DR: My mum told someone about me coming out to her a while back, which led to me being referred to someone who specialises in gender identity issues just yesterday. I was expecting it to take a lot longer for me to be referred to someone specifically to deal with that.

Ah yes, must be safe! I've actually added that to my list of questions for the doctor. Are patches being worth extra cost, or are pills preferred if able to be prescribed? Do they achieve similar results?
