Reply with your favurite artists, songs, albums... You can also explain why you enyoy it so much :relaxed:.

Recently I discovered Weeknd and I LOVE his style. His songs are all different and creative. He also has a great voice. At first glance he seems edgy and dark, but the song's true meaning is often hidden .

Off the top of my head, some of my favourites are: Disturbed, Blue Stahli, Lindsey Stirling, Kamelot, Within Temptation, Llinkin Park (R.I.P. Chester Bennington), Skillet, Breaking Benjamin, Beyond the Black and Fall Out Boy.

    Y'know, to name a few.

Ragtime - anything composed by Scott Joplin (The Entertainer is one that most people would have at least heard even if they do not know the name)
Barbershop Quartet - Main Street is a good group
Bluegrass - Flatt & Scruggs, Buck Owens, Roy Clark
Some Country if it is lively - more older stuff like Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash
Older Rock and Roll as from the 50s and 60s - Buddy Holly, CCR, Olivia Newton-John, Connie Francis, Eagles, Bob Seger, Chuck Berry etc ABBA though that is later.
Some Harder stuff, mostly Joan Jett who I first liked in The Runaways.

if I listed every band I love or listened to you'd be reading 3 pages worth of names. if you asked for every song I love or listened to you'd be reading 3 books worth of titles.

Heavy metal or anything guitar oriented. Also love movie soundtracks and full orchestra classical music.
I love the soundtrack from "Hannibal" especially the scenes Anthony Hopkins are in.
I can't really say who my favorite metal bands are I just like the genre in general.

Love and have appreciation for it all. I like everything really. Some of my favorite genres are 60/70s rock, indie rock, and alt rock/pop.

First, I love every song that has violin in it.)
I love classical and new age. Also, Christian music. Enya is probably my most favourite artist. Also, often listen to Secret Garden, Loreena Mckennitt, and Gregorian band.

I love pop, though I define that in its widest sense - anything that places a premium on melody, that comes from a unique angle or perspective. Favourite tracks of the last few years? Dave - Black, Julia Holter - I Shall Love 2, David Bowie - Blackstar.

I CAN'T STAND 99.9% of what passes for 'pop' in 2020. I despise anything with auto-tuned vocals, mumble-rap especially. I hate the fact that everyone guests on everyone else's tracks and I hate the way that algorithms have forced everybody to sound pretty much the same. Those with the courage (or foolhardiness) to try something different don't stand a cat in hell's chance of succeeding commercially.

    Rant over.

Alternative: Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park, Skillet, Red, Evanescence, Thousand Foot Krutch
Acapella: Peter Hollens, BYU Vocal Point, Pentatonix, Home Free
Soundtracks: Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy series through 10, some other projects), Yasuharu Takanashi (Naruto Shippuden), Howard Shore (Lord of the Rings)
And a bunch of music that to me doesn't fit in any clear category, like Fall Out Boy or Imagine Dragons. I also like Christian music. And Christmas music. :santa:

I’m sure this won’t shock anyone here but my music tastes are extremely wide. Everything from AC/DC, Blondie, The Cab, Disturbed all the way to Willie Nelson, X Ambassadors, Yeasayer, and the Zac Brown Band. (See what I did there?). I mean I have 6,700+ songs on my iTunes. There’s very very little that I don’t enjoy, and even less that I can’t at least appreciate. I severely dislike Christmas music, even though ‘tis the season. Favorite Christmas piece (and the band is playing this year)? Russian Christmas Music. I love it.

I like a variety, from hymns to alternative rock. Some examples...."Worn" by Tenth Avenue North, "Reckless Love" by Bethel Music, "Nearer my God to Thee" version by BYU Vocal Point, "If I Break" by Red, "Though You slay me" by Shane and Shane, those are just a few of my favorites.

“Nearer my God to Thee” is one of my favorite songs. And this coming from a guy that spent a lot of energy in his youth being hateful to everything Christian. I love it done by a brass quintet, and I wish I could find the recording of the marching band playing it a couple years ago because a student had passed away.

My music tastes are all over. Everything from abrasive and horrible an artists that I fear would get me warned if I mentioned it, to the calming and surreal that is Mild High Club.
If I'd have to make a list of artists off the top of my head, they would be...

    Mild High Club (Psychedelic Rock)
    1800 Pain (Unsure)
    Dance with the Dead (Synth)
    Master Boot Record (Binary Metal?)
    999999999 (Techno Dance?)
    Hyperstory (Unsure)
    The Dreadnoughts (Punk)
The Builders and The Butchers (American Folk)
    Brownbird (American Folk)
    Jakey (American Rap)
The Lapfox Record Label (Just because it's one person and a lot of aliases, usually revolving around Hardcore Techno)
Simon Swerwer (He mad a lot of Dwarf Fortress fan music)
Widdly 2 Diddly (He composed the LISA: The Painful Soundtrack. One of the best RPGs I've ever played)
    Trevor Something (Synthwave/Retrowave)
El Tigr3 (Trance I think? Not sure on the genre. Electronic for sure)
    Molchat Doma (Russian Postpunk)
...And a few artists I can't mention because of their names.

Granted, these are only a few I remember right now. I know of a lot more artists than just that. Heh.

I like a lot of classic rock music (grew up listening to it). As for actual bands/artists, I like Skillet, Fall Out Boy, a few pop singers, and a few alternative bands. Often times though, it's not an actual band that I like, but specific songs.

I feel like I'm pretty all over the place with my music taste - I like to think I'm pretty indie/alt. However ,my Spotify Unwrapped exposed me in that like... it was very pop, hyper-pop, and whatever else that is pop. But for favorite artists:
    • Janelle Monae
    • Remi Wolf
    • Gavin Turek
    • Lizzo (?)
I've been getting pretty into Kate Bush too, lately!
