Saskatchewan marriage commissioner decision

    The Saskatchewan Court of Appeal has ruled against two provincial government compromise proposals that would have allowed some public servant marriage commissioners not to perform their service for same sex couples. The issue arose shortly after the legalization of SSM when an MC wouldn't marry a gay couple for religious reasons.

    Note: this was not a civil or criminal trial but two reference questions posed by the government or more officially and esoterically in this case the Lieutenant Governor in Council.

    I don't know, have you seen Ontario and the Maritimes?? Snow drifts and crashed cars everywhere.

    Lol born and raised in Ontario. But no where else in Canada was The second coldest place in Canada as far as I know

    "The Supreme Court has repeatedly confirmed that freedom of religion is not absolute and that, in appropriate cases, it is subject to limitation," he said. "This is clearly one of those situations where religious freedom must yield to the larger public interest."

    Does this mean that in Canada, "Gay Marriage" is in "the larger public interest" or following the Charter of Rights and Freedoms is?

    If so, I want a bumper sticker.
