I think he's an old racist, biased white man who is more than likely into pedophilia. I can't believe he himself had enough nerve to run for office, I can't believe people actually want to vote him in office, and I can not believe it is 2018 and we have a President who is suppose to represent us all that promotes this kind of candidate. I know that you've all heard his name and issues related, so what are your opinions on him?

Also did anyone see or hear what he just recently said about the lgbt and socialist community? How you gonna blame your sexual misconduct on us gays? WTF.. Unless maybe he's got a gay video coming out we don't know about yet. haha. Blame it on the gays. Pshhh. He said the lesbians and gays are trying to change society pretty much, I mean not that we're not trying to, but he says it in such a way as if we're trying to change it for the worst. I didn't like the whole part about god either, I believe in strict separation of church and state, which is never enforced, and I mean it's there for a reason. Imo, a candidate giving a speech to lure in religious voters using statements involving god is clearly referring to religion and in my eyes not separation of church and state. Which I guess he did say our government is god, but yeah. I 100% don't like him.

Is it just me, or has anyone else seen a correlation between those that cover up and protect pedophiles and homophobia?

He's a classic authoritarian, and Alabama definitely responds to an authoritarian strong man. Especially if it tweaks the "Yankees", even if it's to their detriment.

He's a vile and disgusting man who was unfit to hold office in this country even before his perverse sexual proclivities were publicized. His unconstitutional nonsense about the 10 Commandments displays on government property shows how little he respects We the People of the US.

The man doesn't think that women should be allowed to vote, and that you are morally obligated to vote against women running for office! How he's different than those doubleplusbad Muslim extremists I just don't see. https://thinkprogress.org/moore-study-course-vison-forum-135402ed8816/

I guess you can say I don't care for the man.

It's almost like they're trying to divert attention from their shame, eh?

There are definitely many correlations between them. One being that they're usually white males, well in our country that is. And being an older white male with that mindset is the reason why so many people are eager to get him in office and back him and is the reason some people will give him their votes. To me it's shameful that people will campaign with him and that more embarrassingly people of power are promoting him just with the hopes for his vote on bills/laws, that he'll get in office with them so they have more of "their" kind on their side, and that's so wrong. I hate that in our country it's a fight between people as to which side rules, we have a democracy for a reason, yet it isn't functioning like it's suppose to. Now it's 2018 and such a fight between the parties that people are promoting and considering to vote for an old biased/racist womanizing pedophile, now that's sad. I don't even think he should be on the ballot, but that's me, and my opinion doesn't rule.

Like the saying, "birds of a feather flock together." I'm gonna say that in my opinion we already have other womanizing pedophiles in charge and leading us all, making our laws which dictate our lives, they've all just been able to remain under the radar.

Wow, I never knew he was so fervently against women. He is more despicable than I thought. I knew he was a homophobe but I didn't realize he was such a mysogynist.

I agree he's disgusting and the people who vote for him are hypocrites. He and they pretend to be christian but are so phony. Not surprising he'll get elected considering who they elected for president. Sad.

I take to high road when talking about the taboo subject of pedophiles. I seek to understand pedophilia and distance myself from hate. Pedophiles, among many things, are people who want to have sex with children. I do not agree with this. Lets understand and help not inject hate and contempt. Look at how hate and contempt grew and flourished in Nazi Germany.

And yes I'd love to take Roy Moore out to the desert and tie him to a fire aunt mound and put honey on his balls!

As of now Roy Moore has lost the senate race, however he isn't conceding, so I'm thinking there's going to be a recount. It's sad too how many people are upset that he lost, specifically people in power. I think if there's a recount also that the results are going to be about the same with Doug Jones declared the winner. So great job people of Alabama!

I had tears in my eyes watching the results come as Doug Jones pulled ahead at the end. For once, Alabama did the right thing.

Even before we get to the whole mall paedophile thing, this man has such open disdain for the law and the very foundational American principle of separation of church and state that I can't even fathom how he was considered a conservative.

He's a vile, theocratic malcontent who hates the constitutional structure of the United States. Yet he still received the majority of primary votes against a Luther Strange, who was only accused of comparatively mild sleazy dealings with a Governor whose own wandering hands at least knew what age meant.

How fucked can the Republican party get, when its evangelical wing shuts its eyes to extramarital paedophilia and its institutional conservative wing ignores blatant disregard for law?

Alabama obviously has a troubled history. But I think comments like this (and I've seen them everywhere, not necessarily with malicious intent) make people from the South feel they're mocked, vilified and disdained by people who regard them as moral and intellectual inferiors. That makes it so hard to listen to the opinions people like us put out, because before someone disinclined to agree even hears us speak, all they can hear is smug diminution of their self worth.

I have been hearing this argument my entire life. It basically boils down to this idea that it is this judgement that makes them act this way, and that without this judgement, perhaps they would listen to reasonable argument. That in this way, aren't we all really equally bad anyway?

It is utter and complete horseshit.

It is arguing that the person saying, 'hey, stop assaulting that innocent person' is just as culpable as the person committing the assault! What the fuck?

The Republican party could easily go full fascist. We can't count on appealing to the better angels of their natures, and I think they will continue to damage and degrade this country.

They haven't had to pay much of a price for horrible ideas overall. Feels good to extract a pound, especially in a place that should have been an easy win.
