So I posted this the other day, but of course with the crash we've been sent back in time a bit. So, I thought I'd re-upload this:

So the other day I was in lesson and something the person next to me caught my attention, they kept going on about how much they hate "the gays" (I'm assuming he was referring to gay men here) and how they kept hitting on him (his other friends signed him up for a gay dating-app/website as a joke, and now he seems to hold a grudge against gay men in general).

He claimed that he wasn't homophobic though, as his friend was a lot worse than him. As this friend of his would literally cross the street if they saw "the gays" coming.

I just don't like this guy, he seems kind of homophobic and the way he refers to gay men as "the gays", the way he says it you would think that he's referring to a different species.

But um yeah, I'm just in the mood to have a rant/complain here. :icon_redf

Well yeah, it sucks when people talk about gay guys as if we're some alien species ( it does make us exotic, right   lol ).

But seriously, it can ve very aggravating.
Hell, when some classmate of mine questions my sexuality, my favorite response is this one:
Oooooooo baby you would know, (*blow a kiss and wink*) lol !

I had posted a thread about homophobia,

Yeaaaah :/. Rule of thumb, when someone refers to any group of people as "the _____s", it's probably a good idea to run.

I think there's been studies that state homophobia can be due to repressed homosexuality, but I can't think of one off of the top of my head.

There was a 'Harvard study' stating 'all homophobes are homosexual', but it's not real.

Interesting that this seems to have gotten more replies this time, maybe it's just a matter of timing.

There is a guy in our group of friends that is rumoured to be gay, and I was asked if I would treat him any different if he "came out" (they don't know my sexuality BTW), I said it wouldn't make any difference at all. One of the others said that he'd refuse to speak to him etc. it seemed very homo-defensive (if that's a term), and I said later that he was probably speaking like that due to his own insecurities.

My greatest persecutor at school turned out to be gay himself. It might be a case of "he who shouts the loudest has the most to hide". Tis often the case.

Well, one I somewhat remember this year was about an openly anti-gay pastor being found on a certain gay dating app. I've heard several others, but my memory is terrible and that one sticks out the most.

It's not always the case of course, but I know it was for me before I became atheist. People say I wasn't a total jerk, but I'm sure my thoughts were at least as bad as his words.
