umm, no..... I'm bi, but I like people who walk the line between masculine and feminine. Androgynous isn't the same as masculine though. I'd consider an androgynous man to be on the feminine side, so a lesbian liking androgynous women is not liking male secondary characteristics, it's liking....I don't know, a blend of typically male and typically female appearance characteristics? Like to an extent, you might not even be able to tell the girl is a girl, or if it's just their dress sense then it's got no impact on secondary characteristics. I'm not sure I expressed that very well...sorry.
I think he means sex characteristics. Beards, low male voices, flat non-curvy bodies, etc. Otherwise, my answer would have been yes to your reply.
Hm, either way I guess I'd say no. The second one would definitely be a no, while the first one I can still like in a girl but don't feel particularly attracted in most cases.
I'm asking this because a few users on here (Gay men) seem to think that androgynous male have female secondary characteristics.. and they say that is why they are not attracted to androgynous men. ---------- Post added 23rd Jun 2015 at 04:11 PM ---------- "Androgyny can indeed be beautiful, but it does nothing for me sexually. It's like admiring a marble statue. There's a child-like quality to it, and that holds no interest for me. Like AlamoCity male secondary sexual attributes are what I find sexually attractive" -Tscott
I would still have to say 'penis'. That is why lesbians are NOT attracted to androgynous males. That is all.
I never implied anything about lesbians liking androgynous males!? All i said was that there are gay men that say that androgynous men erase the male secondary characteristics and hence they are not attracted to them. Why do lesbians have a totally different view?
Erasing male doesn't give them female characteristics. I'd say these gay men just like very male looking men. Androgynous men and women can look similar. Andrgynous women aren't the same as masculine or butch women in my opinion anyway. Techically androgyny removes male and female. or combine both depending on how you look at it.
I think I understand, but at the same time, I don't. Okay, so take me for example. I have stopped shaving my legs, and when you stop, it's a lot more noticeable than if you'd never shaved in your life. Like, thicker, longer, and darker. I think the question is, if hairy legs are typically a male thing both in biology and culture, can I still be considered attractive to other women? Things like that. Am I off?
The answer that you're going to receive is going to be different from everyone. Some lesbians like other girls in all forms. Some have a type...... Nobody is just quite the same.
Honestly, I think that Gay male culture is Patriarchy at it's finest, and being a male run dominated thing, they see certain characteristics as male, and manly, where lesbians do not consider those things as being more or less womanly. We don't look at women and say 'Androgynous women erase secondary female characteristics and are unattractive." We see a WOMAN. That is all we see. A women who presents androgynous and therefore is still an attractive women. It's just a different way of looking at someone. Just like my gay male friends are so uptight about their bodies and such, women are not so nearly like that. Sure you get some who are, but mostly women don't love their partners less or find women who are missing a breast, or leg or 10 lbs overweight less attractive. It's more of the inner person we fall for. I hope this explains it better.
