LGBT News President Trump to Speak at an Anti-LGBT Conference This Weekend

Gay people will be the biggest losers from a Trump Presidency. Trump is consolidating his base among the religious conservatives which will possibly guarantee him a second term in the White House. In the name of Religious Freedom he will eliminate all the protections for LGBT people in the U.S. He is smart than I thought because no one realized that was his primary goal all along.

 

I need to just stop clicking the news forum threads from the side bar. They're always upsetting nowadays. I'm terrified at the possibility of being some kind of trans, but now this? I should just move to Canada or something.

 

It's pretty much official: he's the President of Hate.

 

So what? Trump never made his strong Christian religious affiliation a secret. The fact that this news organization so narrowly focuses the article on the anti-LGBTQ stance of the host organization of the conference (the Family Research Council) seems like left-wing political hype to me. They jump in the article to a focus of the Family Research Council's stated homophobic stance while not tying that at all to the conference agenda should leave you wondering.

Personally, I think that the Family Research Council is an extremely ignornant, homophobic organization. But that particular distinction is unlikely to even be something that President Trump is aware of. For better or worse, I would bet that it's well below his 'noise level.'

In fact, I would bet that people that want to hype their own specific causes can find reasons why it should be 'alarming' for ANY American President to speak at any given conference or in support of any given 'cause.'

 

Hmmmm...the conference agenda seems pretty clear to me.

 

I'm guessing that was written by the same people who like the idea of two lesbians having sex but think them having an actual relationship or that two penises even touching is "icky and horrible".

 

It's no wonder Trump would speak at this conference. His bigotry and irrational logic seems to fit right in with these lunatics.

So glad I live in Canada.

 

This is stupid. He needs to learn he's not in a stupid reality show and start to face the facts he's the president of the United States. That meaning, his job is to represent all of America. To think he's ignorant enough to forget that lgbtq+ people are part of America is just dumb. Seems like he's still going by his word when he wrote, "Thank you to the LGBT community! I will fight for you while Hillary brings in more people that will threaten your freedoms and beliefs". lol. I'm really sorry for expressing my opinion on this, but I'm just so sick and tired of the constant Trump news.

 

Let's look at some of the other speakers at the conference:

1. Michelle Bahmann - attempted to pass law in Arizona to discriminate against gay people.

2. Vicky Hartzler - compared trans people to terrorists.
¨At a time when we should be focusing on the threats from North Korea, and Putin, and ISIS, we´re having to deal with a threat here at home - a domestic thread - of allowing transgenders in our service.¨

3. Alveda King - compared marriage equality to genocide.

4. Roy Moore - believes homosexuality should be illegal. Thinks gay people are responsible for September 11.

5. Phil Robertson - compared homosexuality to bestiality.

6. Peter Spring - believes homosexuality should illegal. Suggested the United States should ¨export homosexuals¨.

7. Mat Staver - described LGBTQ hate crime protections as part of the ¨radical homosexual anarchist agenda.¨

8. Tony Perkins - compared homosexuality to mass murderers.

 

Honestly, this country just isn't big enough for the two of us.

I never thought I'd seriously be considering illegal border jumping before getting my health in check, but part of me doesn't really care about my health as long as I don't have to spend another minute in this lunatic's little play-theocracy.

People think I'm so calm and level headed, but I could really tear some things up lately. Maybe I could use one of those Trump pinatas.

 

I also have to wonder what these fundamentalist Christians must think of Trump's three marriages, his gambling casinos where he declared bankruptcy and stiffef the workers, and gloats about grabbing women by the p*ssy. And these people have the nerve to preach about values?

"Trump will protect the LGBTQ+ community from 'radical Islamic terrorists..'" Whoever didn't catch that BS from the beginning didn't even recognize there own massive priviledge..nor did they recognize what they already had.

 

Quite honestly I'm done with this. Like everyone else on this thread, I'm seriously considering going to Canada for my masters (undergrad out of country is not an option for me). Four more years of this racist, homophobic, xenophobic, nationalist, war mongering crap is too much for me. I'd even accept Mike Pence over Trump, at least he's diplomatic... (not that I support Pence)

Going to have to disagree with you there. Yes, Pence may be diplomatic, but he has been more vocal than Trump about his anti-lgbt+ stance, and he actually knows what he's doing. He knows how to get legislation passed, where all Teump knows how to do is complain. He knows how to work with congress, rather than fight against it. However bad Trump may be on an international scale, I think Pence would be far worse on a domestic one.

 

Well yes, it would be chosing the lesser of two evils. But at the very least it would probably steer the United States away from possible nuclear war (as you mentioned indirectly). Admitadly my last comment was a hyperbole.
