Hi guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! I'm not sure whether this is in quite the right forum, but I do hope so!

So basically yesterday I got both of my nipples pierced because, and this is going to sound illogical, but I wanted to have my hair cut short, as I have for years, and when I asked my mother recently she said that if I were to do that she'd kick me out because 'girls shouldn't have short hair, it's wrong'. So I went and did something else that she wouldn't like, and it was also something I'd wanted to do for a while.

(Also for those of you who are American, please bear in mind that I am from the UK and here the age of consent is 16, so it was perfectly legal and not classed as molestation)

Mainly, I was just wondering what others opinions of piercings were? Now I have both ears, both nipples, and my navel. I've read a few thoughts, but most of them were extremely outdated (i.e. 7-8 years old) and I was also looking specifically for the opinions of wlw/sapphic people, whereas most views are, as usual, heterosexual. Yeah, mostly I'm just curious! I know some people are grossed out, but queer people tend to be more tolerant so I was wondering if the proportion of grossed out vs. not would change!

Thanks for helping a queer person out!

(I've created a poll for those of you who may feel uncomfortable responding, but clarification/explanation would be greatly appreciated if possible!)

I think piercings are hot, almost anywhere on the body.

I never really understood how a piercing could be perceived as gross by some, when i see someone with piercings my immediate reaction is "they're probably a cool person!" so it's like an immediate respect thing for me. I guess it's because i generally associate piercings with "alternative" types of people or something and those types tend to be my kind of crowd, it's the same with tattoos and most other body mods. Plus, piercings/body mods in general really do look good.
As for them being on a partner/whether it's attractive, i personally have this thing where i tend to be attracted to "cutesy/femme" girls and piercings don't generally to give me cute vibes unless the jewelry itself is very feminine or something so i don't usually levitate towards pierced people, but i've definitely found people with piercings attractive many times before and it's not like there's anything off-putting about piercings.

I’m a man not a woman so I am not the demographic that really matters to you but no, I am not grossed out by piercings I actually don’t care. Some piercings in a moderate, appropriate amount can under the right circumstances look good on certain people and some don’t. It’s definitely nothing I am particularity fond of when it comes to aesthetics though.
That said I really like the sensation of someone having a tongue piercing, just to throw in another aspect than aesthetics.

Piercings are somehow extremely cute and hot simultaneously. It says to me "I don't give **** about what people think, I will look hot however I choose!". Plus most piercings look pretty awesome. Am waiting for the right moment to have a few piercings placed across my body...

So, in short... I heart piercings!

Piercings are a bit of a turn on, to a point. I don't go for the car wreck or industrial accident look, but a few here and there are cool.

I think some could look nice, but others are just uncomfortable to look at... Like wouldn't it hurt??

For me it depends on where the piercing is and how many they have. Sometimes too much is too much.

I think it is a personal choice thing, when I was 18 I pierced my tongue I am nearly 45 now so it was not the done thing back then. I also had several others in lets just say different places. I liked them but found I was conscious of intimacy so I ended up taking them out.
Wish I had not done so, as I was not true to myself. So be true to who you are xxx

I quite like nipple piercings on girls (just simple ball-ended bars, nothing too elaborate)...maybe on guys, although I'm not sure - kinda seems like something from a 70's porno.

In terms of piercings 'downstairs', really don't like it on guys (maybe because I can imagine what it would've felt like to get it done), but I'm not sure on girls - I guess I like more than I don't?

I couldn't care less about ear/nose piercings - I knew a girl who had her cheeks pierced, and would complain that her face would leak whenever she drank anything (I really wanted to see her try to eat soup).

Piercings are great IMO. I don't have any but I would get some.

Imo, it's fine, as long as one's not completely covered from head to toe. But in moderation, they're awesome! Again, that's just my two cents though.

I think it really depends on where the piercing is and how many a person has. Some piercing can be really hot:sweat_smile:

I love piercings. I think they can look extremely hot. I've had many over the years, but since taken most of them out. I like that they can be expressive but not permanent. The only issue I had with my nipple piercing was it showing through my shirt so I wore nipple covers. I didn't often have a bad reaction about my piercings, even working customer service jobs with snake bites. People would more question why I'd chose to do that to my face than say an outright negative comment & I'd just tell them I thought it looked good lol.
