... and actually feeling a bit grumpy. I've never been that keen on Christmas. I do enjoy spending time with my immediate family on Christmas day and friends over the holiday period, but that's as much as I want or need. I really hate the commercialised Christmas stuff in stores and bars etc which starts far too early. Awful Christmas "music" in shops since mid November. Naff "German" Christmas market in the town centre. Decorations and some music in bars and clubs from the beginning of December. Increasing amounts of Christmas songs on the radio (even Jack FM have started playing a few now). There seems to be no option for those who don't celebrate Christmas, or those who just don't want much to do with it. This isn't really a question, just a bit of a "bah humbug" thread. :eusa_danc "All I want for Christmas...." is a pair of :***: earplugs! :eusa_danc
There are options You close the door of your home and the crazy world will stay outside. I have been doing it for years. I like decent slow non-hectic Christmas and I have them. Don't let them get you
I do that to some extent. Certainly most of my shopping is done online and delivered now. But I don't want to cut out the social life completely so have to balance it.
Xmas doesn't mean what it used to mean for me either. If I want something, I can just by it since I'm an adult now. But I hate the consumerism behind it too, and along with that I too hate seeing xmas decorations all over the place. The dumbfoundedness I feel when I see people going to stores as if they're mechanically programmed to do is is unparalled by anything else.
