And he is not stereotypical in any way... Good!

When it comes to featuring characters of different sexuality, ethnicity, or gender a lot of writers tend to resort to stereotypes to do the work for them. It's nice to see someone who knows how to write a realistic gay character.

Something to note, you have one of the biggest franchises in gaming with one of the most diverse and progressive casts in years coupled to a story that's primarily about family with many big moments handled in a very subtle way instead of with bombast.

Yet there's no calls to boycott it, it's sold boatloads, it's critically acclaimed and the universe hasn't imploded on itself. It's quite something that NetherRealm have achieved here.

Well, except the universally panned amounts of day one DLC.

Mortal Kombat is a series I have wanted to get into for a long time. But never did. I've been meaning to pick up MK9 ever since it came out, lol. The series always seemed interesting.

As for the news at hand. That is really cool. And that Raiden quote... so cheesy. But lovely, lol.

I'm not really a big gamer nor am I a fan of the Mortal Kombat franchise, but I am really glad that they didn't make him a flaming ball of steriotypes (I'm lookin' at you, Grell.)

I was hoping scorpion was gay and lusting after sub-zero. Fire and Ice baby! Hatred turned to love the all too familiar story of rival ninjas.
