    Hello there,

I'm looking for any movies which:
    - are about a young gay male
    - the gay male has psychological issues/suffers from e.g. depression and either goes to a psychologist or struggles with the situation alone/talks to a friend
    - has difficulties in life due to being gay

If the story includes coming out to parents/lover/friends/anyone, it's a plus.

If you can think of anything good, I'll be happy!

    Thanks

Not a movie but a tv show
The 3th season of the Norwegian tv show Skam.

It’s 10 short episodes focussed on a closeted gay teen Isak trying to accept his sexuality when he falls in love with Even.

It deals with coming out, internalised homophobia, mental health issues, depression, isolation, seeking help from others... but most of all it’s an absolutely adorable love story! It made me face my own sexuality

You can watch only this season without having seen the other ones but I recommend the whole show. You can easily find English subtitles online (and other languages). The Italian remake is currently airing this storyline in their 2th season and it’s just as good

I highly recommend Maurice dir. James Ivory. It's so visually stunning, the characters are great, and the leads are attractive. Fun if you love those issues listed above.

Not a movie but a book: Highly Illogical Behavior by John Corey Whaley

Main character is a gay male teenager.
He has agoraphobia and struggles with this for most of the book.
Sort of has difficulties in life due to being gay.

If you don’t mind Spanish movies, then I will recommend Esteros and The way he looks. Both are excellent movies.
Both deals with a lead coming to terms with his sexuality.

Fourth man out is also good. It is comedy about a guy coming out to his friends.
