Similar to the other thread (LGBT Songs, Movies, Books, and maybe more in the future) I decided to make a place to discuss LGBT TV Shows

I know a few like Greys Anatomy (obviously) but I was wondering if anyone wants to help with "expanding the list" so if anyone wants to watch some L-G-B-T-V (pun intended) they can come to this thread

The Real O'Neals. It only lasted two seasons, but is still very good for people trying to handle coming out and being gay in a Catholic family. Since it was cancelled, I'm sure it can be found online somewhere if anyone is interested.

It's more of a sitcom, but I think it handled serious issues well.

    Obviously 'The L Word'
    Orange is the new black
    Faking it
    Supergirl
    Shadowhunters
    Orphan black
SKAM (my absolute favourite show but it's in norwegian with subtitles)

Also this new show 'The Bold Type' has a promissing plotline with a main character questioning her sexuality when falling for another woman

Just watched a Netflix sitcom called "One day at a time". It's about a Cuban family and the teenage daughter, Elena, comes out as gay. I really like how we got to see how her mum dealt with it. I wish this show was around when I was younger

While there are no actual LGBT characters in the show, Heroes Reborn dealt with issues similar to LGBT issues. There was a sort-of "Pride" festival for Evos (people with evolutionary abilities) complete with protesters with signs including "God Hates Evos." People were hiding their abilities from loved ones. One character was bothered by the fact that her daughter was pregnant by an Evo, and Evos were not allowed to donate blood for fear of spreading their abilities.

Not a current show, but I absolutely love the US version of Queer As Folk. That's probably one of my favorites and (obviously) is centred around LGBT issues.

I too considers the US Version of Queer As Folk and Noah's Arc as my all time favorite LGBT TV shows.

Bit obvious but Glee had every letter in LGBT covered.

Finding prince Charming. It's like The Bachelor, but it's all gay men. And the "bachelor" in the first season was SOOOOOO gorgeous.

I heard The Get Down had LGBT character(s), but I haven't seen it myself. Yet, anyway. I wouldn't personally recommend Glee since it's frustrating to watch and full of stereotypes (and I haven't finished it yet because of that lol) but it does have them too.

Sense8 is a great LGBT tv show. Even though there are only 2 seasons it does rake you on an emotional roller coaster. The storyline is very unique and it faces LGBT issues head on. You won't find a show like this anywhere else so I would definitely recommend.

Wynonna Earp has a lesbian couple in it. There is currently two seasons of it. When they made the first season they promised not to kill either of the lesbians in season one. They made no promises past that.

Black Mirror is currently on Netflix and are all stand alone episodes. Season 3 episode 4 San Junipero is a must watch.

San Junipero IS a must watch, it's the best damn episode of any show as far as I'm concerned. Heaven is a Place on Earth - lesbian classic right now

Otherwise, Orphan Black and Orange is The New Black are my best picks

ALSO OH NO I HATE to double post but I forgot a really good one: The Bold Type

It has a lesbian ship, both women are POC and one is muslim - a dream for represantation. Not contrived at all, cute as all heck and it definitely looks like the couple will be endgame.

I'm looking forward to the revival of Will and Grace, just wish Rosario was gonna be on it. I give that show credit for helping me finally realize I was gay back in 1999. How can it be 18 years since then? Gah...

I like Difficult People. Of the main characters, two are gay and one is transgender (joined season 2). Same with the people who play them.

Lost Girl was a show with a Bisexual main character. It also had a Lesbian as a main character and the two characters ended up in a relationship at one point. it ended a couple of years ago but I loved it while it lasted.
