    Hi Ams.... I’m also new to this chat. I’m 45 and not out to anyone yet. I agree it is very isolating to figure this stuff out later in life. I feel like a teen again, all confused and unsure. I’ve only been on here a week or two, but it’s encouraging to chat with others in similar situations. Glad I found EC!

    Hi there everyone. Not sure how I've not spotted this thread before but it'd be nice to chat. I was also pretty late (I'm 35) when I finally accepted my sexuality a few months ago. I think 2020 is going to be a pretty tough year for me as I deal with what this means for some of my closest relationships, so it's nice to know you guys are here on EC!

    I am so sick of being single. Dating sites don't have many ladies in my area. I've talked to some ladies that were a little further away but things didn't work out. I hope I'm not alone on Valentine's Day but it looks like I will be.

    Do you live close to a city? Or is there any LGBTQ+ events happening in your area? I would say I meet 90% of girls at events and maybe 10% through apps. I find face to face interaction and meeting in a natural environment 100% more effective.

    Thanks for the suggestion. My therapist gave me a website with LGBT resources in my state and there are some events and groups but I haven't been to any of them yet. I will have to try to get there soon.

    True! I also feel like awkwardness fades with practice. I used to be super awkward in person but forced myself to talk to girls in bars etc... despite it being terrifying and now I can do it without the awkwardness, though I can still definitely get awkward when confronted by someone I find slightly intimidating haha
