wow! this poll was a good idea. 87 so far!

    current scores:
    Right handed 54 62.07%
    Left handed 12 13.79%
    Both equally 1 1.15%
    Favor left
but can almost do both equally 7 8.05%
    Favor right
but can almost do them both equally 13 14.94%

so more right handed, not suprized, but a lot of left and can use left.

I'm left handed and my left eye is the dominant one. However, I'm right footed.

I'm right handed. But when I play soccer, I'm left-footed.

  5. Well, artsy people tend to be more left-handed because they're right-brained, and according to stereotype, gay people are more artsy than average. Hence, gay people should be more left handed than average?

I'm left-hand dominant, but I was taught to write with my right hand. I do everything else with my left hand - swing a tennis racket, touch things, fidget with objects such as pencils, etc.

I wouldn't trust my left hand with all activities, although I can use it fairly well. But I am right handed, definitely. Throwing a ball with the left hand is for me likely to end up in an injury  However, there are some things I prefer to do with my left hand. For example, if I used right hand in toilette, I would piss all over the place (sorry for being too graphic).

hmmm... i am both handed. i favor right for writing, but can do it left legible, and if i lost my right hand i would just switch, no issue. swimming i must do it left or drown in scissors. depends when eating which hand cuts the waffle. carry everything with left. can use toes to pick up stuff too. (i am not a monkey.) i am pretty straight, but then again i think i may be transgender, so maybe that is something? Anyways, this is current poll result, very cool:

    Right handed 63 59.43%
    Left handed 19 17.92%
    Both equally 2 1.89%
Favor left but can almost do both equally 7 6.60%
Favor right but can almost do them both equally 15 14.15%
    Voters: 106.

about 23% are both handed if you include the almosts, and about 18% lefties. a 60% righty score is not really that much of a majority. interesting.

Generically right handed, like roughly 80% of the world.

I am naturally left handed though there are some things I happen to do better with my right. I think it has to do with a lot of things around me being suited for right handers

  14. No way! That's just a trend I guess? You don't have to fit it

I'm a righty. When I sign (use sign language), I can fingerspell a little with my left hand. I've been practicing signing with both hands. At some point I'm going to have to do double handed signing anyway.

I've started writing with my left hand so I can become ambidextrous, too. I'm starting to suck less! It's still illegible, though, unless I wrtie quite slowly, in which case it can look nicer than my right-handed scrawling.

Right-handed for writing. Right-handed for roller-hockey. Either way around for eating. Left-handed for wanking.

I've tried doing the latter with my right hand. It was awful and I couldn't even finish. :|

Would be a bit hard in the UK - the left hand is pretty much used for changing gear constantly, especially in town, and retuning the radio and heating controls.

I'm nominally right handed, but when I broke my thumb on my right hand my writing with the left hand pretty much matched the left after a couple of weeks - that being said my handwriting has always been appalling, and at various times I've tried using the left hand and the quality isn't much worse, just starts getting tired significantly quicker!

I also started to play Tennis at school at the same time so I play that left handed too, but all other racquet sports are right handed (I'm rubbish at all of them though - but can play badminton equally as well with both hands). I do use my mobile phone wholly in the left hand all the time - ended up developing that skill when I was at uni and writing notes with my right hand while holding the phone with my left talking to my classmates! Other stuff like spreading spread on bread can be done equally well with both hands.
