I thought this book was very good, it's a twist on the Cinderella story, the setting is great and a choice between two loves is a good read, the end is perfect for me (Happy)

Well after I saw the movie years ago, I finally got around to reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. I liked it and of course you can see the many differences the movie has from the book.

Finished already? Cool! Yeah I thought it was good, but not one of my favorites. The movie was good though.

May as well revive this thread for the New Year.

I've just finished reading David Copperfield by Charles Dickens, finally. I didn't want it to end, though, weirdly enough. I'd always moan about how I didn't like it, but (this is the only Dickens I've ever read) I love the conversational tone Dickens has in his novels which makes you feel like part of the story, which many authors lack. I'll probably make a start on Great Expectations and A Tale of Two Cities in the Summer, too.

Sorry I missed this. Yeah I usually finish books that are > 300 pages in a few days, depending on the writing style. I've never seen the movie, but I've seen the Slaughterhouse Five Futurama episode. I'll have to check it out.

    I read mostly anything.

the last book that I had read was a book called Myths and Legends, Classical Greek, Celtic, Norse, Chinese, African, Native American and more.

    Pretty interesting read.

The last book I read was Blindness by Jose Saramago. His style is difficult to get used to (very long sentences and paragraphs with minimal punctuation), but it's worth it for the interesting stories he crafts.

Ian McEwan, "The Children Act" - I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for an easy read which covers an ethically challenging topic

    And

Hannah Arendt, "Eichmann in Jerusalem" - Read it with my book club and it was quite a challenge. But a must-read if you're interested in this time period.

    Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.

I picked it up thinking it would just be a boring philosophy book, but I found it to be extremely gripping and engaging.
