Hey RJay I'm glad but not surprised things are back to normal. Don't worry, next time you are panicking we will be here again. Deep breaths . A goodbye meal sounds nice.

Don't feel silly, honestly it's so easily done and deep down it only means you care.

Perhaps now that you are feeling better you could write yourselves a note with things your calm self might want to tell your overwrought self for when you end up like that again. Also any things which you feel helped you this time.

What say you, wise friends. Is this straight woman having.... thoughts? Let's take a non-scientific survey!

Hey, I'm not sure there is much in there that would make me immediately think she was having thoughts. Was there a specific bit you were referring to?

Just woke up, sitting here with my coffee relaxing and what appears but one of the most favorite pastimes of women! The clinical assessment and dissection of the text screenshot! :mag::eye:

Soooo, in my wannabe Charlie's Angel opinion, on first read-thru this seems to be a pretty regular text exchange. Because for V this COULD have amounted to her being like, 'let me share this cute/funny thing my kid said with my best friend.' And that's that.

Of course as a good detective does, I also had to read the text again (then sideways and upside down..haha.) And kind of came to the same conclusion, except on all the 'sleep well' stuff etc. You mentioned this is just something you guys do all the time. But IDK, I just don't do that with any of my regular friends, never have. Never did--until I met my best friend turned girlfriend. That was the ONLY time I ever did this with another girl (even when just friends.) But, maybe some people just have this sort of relationship with their friends? But for me, it would feel weird to do this with any of my regular friends. So that sort of pattern to me COULD be indicative of something more going on between the two of you.

Maybe some of the rest of your Angel's team here has some other thoughts. I do remember someone mentioning on this site the concept of 'confirmation bias'--where we look at things in a way that sort of confirms what we want, that lines up with our thoughts. So there is that possibility here.

So I am not sure that this text moves us any further (or backwards) in our knowledge of where V is at with all this. As is so often the case with all the screenshot text assessments done by women all the world over every single day...in the end the conclusion often amounts to, 'well, who knows, it could have meant this, that, or the other thing....'
But probably until the end of time we will sure TRY to figure out the meaning behind texts!:mag:

Hey I do tell some of my friends goodnight sleep well kind of things, only my close friends but I do, I mean not usually every night, only if we happen to already be having a conversation and one of us is ending it because we are going to bed.

Ok RJay, the voice of reason in me says she probably was just saying good night. When the woman I am seeing (see I can't even say girlfriend yet because I'm not sure, lol) ends our conversations like that I think that is just her saying goodnight. Now knowing the way I feel about her, when I say something like that to her (even in picture form) it's because it does mean more to me and I want her to know that I am thinking about her. Perhaps your thinking it means more than it does because it means more to you. Make sense?

Haha sorry. Don't worry though I am by no means saying she doesn't like you just that this specific piece of evidence that you have supplied neither proves nor disproves her level of like

Looking at that message thread, I wouldn't say she's encouraging you or hinting at anything, but you're being pretty obvious and if she hasn't stopped it, then there's no reason you should stop (unless she asks you to, which she hasn't). She has to know how you feel...

I say keep doing what your doing unless she specifically asks you to stop. Remember you supposed to be working on letting things be. Lol.

RJay--We're fun! We're Fun! Really we are!

Correct. She is NOT (not even a little bit) discouraging you.( And lets not forget she seems to have no prob with you playing with hair. Now THIS I know I never do with my 'regular' friends!)

Let us know how the goodbye dinner goes with her and the kids!

Tomorrow I am watching her kids all day so V can put in a good last day at work, then we are all having dinner when she gets back. Apparently, V is coming back to the city Friday night through Sunday morning without the kids to do more packing and then leaving for the rest of the month.

She still wants me to go out there for a weekend later in the month but I'm thinking of letting her know I would understand if she decided it would be better if I didn't go. I don't know... I feel like I'm burdening her, like she feels obligated to have me visit because she suggested it way back in early June before she knew what an intense case I am. I thought I'd say I'd understand if she wanted a break from me. But maybe it would be less awkward to just not say anything and go as planned and just try to be cool. Ugh. Don't know...
