its difficult to be yourself

    Doesn't that suck? There is a lot of research about this burden that minorities feel. Many of us feel like we have to represent all LGBT people and be respectable and digestible for people. The burden sucks and its incredibly limiting. Think about it. Has your wife ever had the need to tell you that a straight character doesn't represent her?

    I love that you have been able to find people who you connect with. When you are ready, you can also start talking to whoever is leading the group you are currently attending. Ask if you can help organize a camping trip or a day of hiking. Even if only 2-3 people show up, you now have 2-3 more people to bond with than before. Do the "gay sanctioned stuff" and also do other stuff. We need more people leading and creating spaces so go you :slight_smile:
